yes, yes, and no. They are extremely aggressive predators, and they'll eat just about everything, and if you scare them enough they'll put a big dose of ink in your tank, so it's quick water change or rapid tank death, unless you have one hell of a protein skimmer. Also, the whole vicious predator thing means they eat a lot, and they like their fresh seafood. And they're strong and smart escape artists. Leave it to the people who are paid to maintain tanks and go see them there =)

Former aquarium specialist here.

Yes, octopus are very smart. They can change color, texture, shape, and density. When you grab them, they turn to goo and drip through your fingers. When they grab you, they turn to stone. They will open their tank lid, go for a walk, eat the fish in other tanks, and go back to their own tank when done. They do not care about what you do or do not want to get wet, they'll climb on it all the same. And they are way stronger than you would think.

Thats great, Are they har dto look after? I've had loads of freshwater fish but never ventured into saltwater tanks. Due to the expense and difficulty but an Octopus would be awesome.
