Anyone else wish this part of the song and specifically that sound (whatever it is) was used a bit more?

  • They so need to make a squeal to this mini series. If they did.I would die a very very happy person :)

  • Did you notice that he's wearing Cpt. Hammer's gloves with his red suit?

  • Was this the basis that Megamind was made off of?

  • I literally start crying every time he starts singing. It pisses me off.

  • Love the ending. Reflects on his previous quote about pie when penny is describing Captain Hammer, when Dr. Horrible basically says that the third, deeper layer is what they truly are. On the outside, he is Billy, and inside, he WANTS to be Dr. Horrible. But as we see on the last word of the song, although he is Dr. Horrible on the inside, an innermost layer of him is still Billy. Hurt, sad, Billy.

  • Every time I watch this, I die a little bit inside but I cant resist watching over and over again

  • @QuietGuitaristfan

I found it...not sure what the word is but it startled me when she said "don't worry Captain Hammer will save us", for some reason I expected her to say something heartfelt towards dr horrible. *shrugs*

  • This was better than Kick Ass. Come at me you faggy 13 year olds.

  • @EP1KCAMPER, I hate KickAss and I'm 13

  • and i won't feel a thing...

  • I loved this and the songs, but I'm not gonna lie, I was shocked at the ending. Call me dumb, but in the direction it was going I didn't expect the story to take such a dark turn.

  • @Moonburst12 Such is the genius of Joss Whedon

  • @MrCaptainLarry AMEN

  • 5:19 I nosalgia'd hard

  • Can't wait till Dr.Horrible 2! Will it live up to what the first one was!?

  • Am I the only one that thinks that half the reason that Penny's death broke Billy so much is that her last words were "captain hammer will save us" that even as she dies she picked Hammer over him. That he realizes he was never going to have her.

  • I felt sad at the end. Is it bad that I cried.

  • Oh shit. Sheldon drove Howard to become a super villain.

  • the last line broke me

  • The worst part is there were almost no explosions.

  • NPH i feel your pain

  • I just love how this ended. I simply adore how he couldn't even choke out her name or say anything at all. Neil did simply a fantastic job as did the rest of the cast. Long live Dr. Horrible! :)

  • I get shivers when he says "Now Dr. Horrible is here"Thumbs up if you agree

  • "now doctor horrible is here, to make the whole world neil"

  • @sunshinensmileys omg. whoa i just noticed

  • After Penny's death, Billy only knows pain. The only way to endure that is to let the Dr Horrible persona - the evil supervillain who made it into the ELE - take charge. But I assume this is only an illusion, in order not to come to terms with the sheer cruelty of fate. But somewhere deep inside Dr. Horrible, the best part of Billy must still exist, and maybe he will come to the surface again, once he no longer needs Dr Horrible's skill "not to feel a thing."

  • @JadenGrimstone that's deep man

  • Is bad horse JUST a horse?

  • @MimiCabrii Not just a horse... a thoroughbred of sin.

  • @MimiCabrii A Bad one

  • Believe it or not, this is the 'happy ending.' Because Bad Horse told him if he didn't kill, he would be killed. He didn't kill Penny, but no one knows that, so in the end... He lost the girl but he gained the two things he needed most. Independence, and the status he aspired for. Don't feel sad for Dr Horrible. This is everything he wanted.

  • @Emhilradim but not what he needed

  • @Emhilradim actually not everything he wanted. He also wanted Penny.

  • and this is why Firefly should have had a second season. thank you Joss Whedon

  • My record is 1.02. The longest I can go without crying.

  • @initiative because he's actually sad that penny is dead, despite he's gotten all he's wanted

  • What's up with the total cut to normal Billy when he says "A thing?"

  • @InitiativeXIII three layers.... like a pie ;)

  • @amalum OH. XD I completely forgot about that. Thanks!

  • What an incredible ending... It is a real punch to the gut; I never imagined the film would end in such a cynical fashion. Whedon is some sort of mad genius...

  • this ending is great... but damn I still hate it!

  • my theory on the ending is that once penny died he realised that he didnt care as much about penny as he did about ruling the world. but when ever it shows him in his lab just as billy it lets us know that his third layer is still billy

  • wow everyone is more concerned that Captain hammer lost, over the fact someone was killed. Yeah, that makes sense.

  • Is it just me, or does Dr. Horrible's final costume look a lot like Vash the Stampede's costume?

  • I'm only looking at her death scene pumps. They're really dreamy. XD

  • 2:26 Beckett?

  • One of the best hollow victory songs.

  • why do a lot of people say they cried at the end of the thing... i mean he got half of what he always wanted, but after he says a thing then it sucks it is over but still does anyone know why some people cry at the end of this?

  • @mouseman1399 Because Billy lost the one thing that he truly wanted...Penny. He loved her and losing her devastated him. We saw just how truly sad he was at the end. She meant the world to him. He may have achieved his goal of being a feared villain, but at the cost of true happiness. Part of the reason he wanted to be a recognized villain was for her.

  • @ridleyman90 and also, Dr.Horrible was a small part of him, he was Billy. Then, his good side is dead (pretty much) and he's only evil, and Billy was an amazing person

  • @ridleyman90 ok thank you for answering my question.

  • @mouseman1399 Err, due to some people having a soul? He killed the girl he loved. Killing her made him rich and successful, but he still killed the girl he loved. He's put on this mask (or more appropriately these goggles) of being a truly evil and uncaring villain. But he's not and he will be haunted for the rest of his life. That is emotional.

  • @pieoverlord yes but technically he did not kill penny, it was Cpt.Hammer

  • @pieoverlord but i do agree with you and thank you for replying.

  • That last part when he says 'a thing', i get chills.

    What does it mean?

  • I LOVE THIS!!!! the only thing i thought was kind of weird is at the end, when he says the "a thing" dressed normally. like does that have a meaning?

  • @CoolKidConan1 I think it's saying that the whole time, Dr. Horrible was his suppressed personality throughout the whole thing and he would be his suppressed personality in front of the camera. Also, Penny was the only thing keeping him as Billy. Then once Penny died, Billy became the suppressed personality so that's why he was Billy in front of the camera. Not sure though.

  • @CoolKidConan1 Just my personal interpretation. It's the former Billy, who is now lost inside Dr. Horrible after his rise.

  • @CoolKidConan1 Personally, I interpret it as how Billy really feels. He finally attained his acceptance as a renowned super villain, but the main reason he wanted it was for Penny, who is obviously now dead by his hand, or, in my opinion, Doctor Horrible's hand. I think the ending is Billy's remorse over everything that happened and what he lost in order to achieve his evil dream. He feels nothing anymore, and all he accomplished is moot to him deep down.

  • @CoolKidConan1 to me it looks as if he had been crying, so outside of the league and being a villain, so the last line, "and I won't feel__a thing" in my mind is a lie and he still cares deeply about Penny.

  • @CoolKidConan1 "Billy" won't feel a thing because Dr.Horrible is now in control. Then again "billy" wouldn't likely want to feel a thing because the love of his life, the thing he cared for the most in the world is gone. So the easy way out is to submit to dr.horrible and essentially die himself.

  • WHEDON!!!!!

  • Wait if he had a son..(moist) who's the mother O.o and Dr. Horrible really didn't kill her..it was Captian Hammers fault!!!

  • @cheesegril It was Captain Hammer's fault. He made the gun blow up.

  • THAT"S IT?!?!?!?!?!

  • WTF IS A HONEYWAGON DRIVER?????? (credits)

  • when the credits start i feel like im about to cry :( the music to the credits is so sad

  • the world needs more hollywood writer's strikes.

  • ... no more yoking , this takes the first post of my favorite movies , FOREVER , and now we know how real villans are made

  • And kids, that's how your uncle Barney became a super villain.

  • @MegOriginProductions HOW I MAET YOUR MOTHER REFRENCE THATS LEGEND WAIT WAIT FORE IT DARY

  • It makes me sad for him, but hey, I get a bigger chance to be with badass NPH/ Dr. Horrible! XD I'm yours, Doctor! XD

  • "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, yet lose his own soul?"

    Mark 8:36

  • Why can't I stop watching this?

  • best ending ever

  • @deonax of all time

  • is he supposed to be happy when all he ever wanted... comes with a price?

  • Damnit, TV hasn't made me cry this hard since Annie killed all those little baby Jedi who asked him for help...

  • 20 ppl were crying so hard they clicked the dislike button by accident. well done Jos Whendon.

  • @scottmihalyi fail with the name. joss whedon. but im sure you have seen your error

  • @SergeantLouis72 Yes I did. I was crying so hard I only hit the 'S' key once. lol

  • He's talking about the world he wants at his feet, in that he's beaten Captain Hammer and is now basically in control of the world, but also the world he wanted at his feet in the sense of Penny, lying at his feet . :C That's the world he truly wanted.

Excuse me, I am going to go cry into my pillow now.

  • So Dark horse was an actual horse the entire time.

  • ...He's a real villain, now...

    It still makes me cry.

    Every time.

  • Every time I listen to this, I choke up a little inside. :(

  • Joss Whedon has a grudge against gingers. :(

  • Joss you cruel, heartless man.

...But what did we honestly expect?

  • If you'll pardon me, I got something unmanly in my eye.

  • Doctor Horrible is responsible for the death of the person who deserved it the least. The Evil League of Evil would be proud.

  • @smnoy23 Dr. Horrible isn't responsible! He brought the weapon, yes, but who pulled the trigger? It's like saying a robber kills a person with the person's own weapon, and it was the person's fault for owning the gun.

  • This movie left me with such a weird taste in my mouth... It's really a tragic piece, even if some goofy, funny elements are thrown in. It breaks my heart every time I watch it. :< BUT I LURVE IT.

  • I love the ending.

Dr. Horrible got everything he wanted.

And all it cost him was the only thing he really wanted.

  • Where is the "awestruck" reaction option? "Incredible" doesn't even cover it.

  • I was so surprised at how dark the ending was compared to the rest of it...but I love it.

  • Any one else noticed that during the film all his 'blog' sections are done with him in his Dr. Horrible outfit then in his every day life he's just Billy where as here at the end we see that Dr. Horrible has become his every day life with Billy replacing him in the blog?

  • @DoctorsK9 Layers. Like pie.

  • "Don't worry... Captain Hammer will save us." PENNY NO!!

  • Am I the only one who hears Neil singing "Horrible" in the background during the party scene? It's slightly creepy....yet brilliantly awesome at the same time

  • I cried all over my keyboard. Joss Whedon owes me a new keyboard

  • That "...everything you ever..." Is hair raising

  • "And I won't feel.....a thing." My heart breaks everytime. :'(

  • The music at 1:54

    ...I CAN'T

  • @Gelertsrock YES

  • i always get chills when he says "a thing..."

  • When Penny's sitting alone in the laundromat I was thinking, "Yay, she misses Billy and is gonna end up with him after all!"

Then my friend reminded me this was made by Joss Whedon

  • I know some people won't agree with me, but I think this is the best ending they could have done with this movie

And you have to admit this song is pretty badass

  • @jmluffyetsven

Tru that it would be to cheesy for Josh to let a chareceter live happilly ever after

  • @jmluffyetsven It's really the only ending that makes sense. Now he's more evil than he ever wanted to be and the worst part is that he know's it's his fault. He got everything he wanted but the cost was more than he could bare I think, and now who know's what he's capable of. Reminds me of a kind of Mr. Freeze origin. I'd love to see a sequel just to see how bad he actually got.

  • @jmluffyetsven I completely agree with you.

When Penny died, I was like... A tiny bit of my heart broke, but I didn't feel like she would REALLY die. Cuz they rarely ever let that happen. But I prefer this by far. It's... Ahh. I love it. Just love it.

  • @jmluffyetsven The Hammer Man will save us bit though was just a stab in the heart man.

  • @jmluffyetsven sorry Captain Hammer

  • @jmluffyetsven screw the rest of them, i think it was an excellent way to end it. its so dramatic, despite its plucky and friendliness. i see more serious dramas that cant achieve the impact this little internet musical was able to accomplish

  • that was depressing.

  • 1:44 hey howard ^^

  • Joss Whedon why do you have to end everything so sadly sigh

  • I love how everyone's still surprised when Joss kills someone. It's not exactly new information that he loves to kill off characters haha.

  • I thinks its great how the superhero ultimatly created the supervillain

  • The chord at the end should have been delayed by a second or two. His eyes should have been glossier.

Absolutely amazing production. This whole thing was a treat.

  • Could somebody explain the very ending to me please? I don't quite get it

  • @sgtchicken He finally achieved his goal he's recognized as a super villain, his 'career' has taken off but, he lost his love in getting there.

That's about the best I can put it into words.

  • Has anybody else noticed the goggles on his forehead reflect light less and less, until it stops almost completely in act 3? I think it might be symbolic of his purity-they only glint one last time when he's mourning Penny.

    Might be just me...

  • @thatoneweirdo1 it sounds too perfect to be a crazy random happenstance

  • @thekidwithahat1 +1 interntets

  • Comment removed

  • This was my favorite part. I hated her so I was happy about her death plus the evil council is dope.

  • epic ening to an epic movie

  • NO PENNY NOOOOOOOO!!!! *sob* WHY?!WHY?!

  • Unresolved chord at the end... so sad...

  • to make the whole world Neil

  • @yojoe1221 NICE! That was punny

  • @yojoe1221 I thought the same exact thing, hahaha.

  • @yojoe1221

Damn I want live in that world

  • Finally, someone was brave enough to give us an ending that happens! O.o

    I love it!

  • This ending is so beautiful and deep! Hail Joss Whedon!!

  • I thought there should be more to the ending personally, but I Loved the rest of it :) HUGE fan of felicia Day NPH and Nathan Fillion also Joss whedon that's why I loved it too :)

  • the silence just after the last line gives your brain just enough time to register your feelings

  • oh no they killed penny

Lennards gonna be pissed when howard tells him

  • what does captain hammer say at 1:44?

  • @thekidwithahat1 "*Sob* ...he ruined my life...Penny was mine *sob*"

  • @jacobrgoods116 "And I won't feel a thing" It shows that he's still human and still "Billy buddy." Dr. Horrible got what he wanted, Billy didn't. It's just showing their differences. Dr. H is in the League, Billy is without his Penny. Make sense?

  • Can someone explain why at the very end of the song, its just him sitting in his room saying "A thing"?

  • @jacobrgoods116 He's finishing the last line of the song ("And I won't feel...") and he finishes with saying "a thing".

  • am i the only one who feel sorry for captain hammer in this video?

  • @thekidwithahat1 Probably. Captain Hammer was a jerk.

  • @CarnivorousStorm must just be the way i am :)

  • Doing the blog originally, he was Billy portraying who he wanted to become, Dr. Horrible. A successful, more confident man who can take the matters of his life and ideals into his own hands and make them reality. When he finally achieved that, he realized he lost the whole reason he wanted to become the doctor in the first place, and that he had been better off as Billy. The blog, both times, shows the man he wishes he could be. Just to be Billy again...

  • And suddenly there is symbolism that I never caught before....

  • i thought that he was telling the thuth

i thought that he was glad to be evil and didn't care that penny was dead

then the last 2 seconds of film hit me like a ton of brick

    so sad :(

  • crying....

  • Good film but the ending was weird!

  • @birstykarrott The ending shows a man who got what he wanted at the ultimate price. it shows a man broken and destroyed by his own determinations.

it's a bit of a "be careful what you wish for" he got what he wanted the most at the price of what was most precious to him.

    heartbreaking :'(

  • the ending is so sad :(

  • I was listening to the music at the end without watching the credits, so that "Grr! Argh!" at the end made me go "What?!"

  • chills

  • I admit, this is my favorite movie of all time. The last time I saw the whole thing, I cried when I saw Penny die.

  • Now the nightmare's real.

    Now Dr.Horrible is here.

To make you quake with fear.

To make the whole world kneel.

    And I won't feel - A thing.

  • @AkatsukiCerberus poor Dr. Horrible :(

  • The music accompanying the end credits is just so awesome.

  • This song gives me the chills, makes me want to cry as well as give NPH a big hug

    I love it so much.

    I can't wait for the sequel... :)

  • With Betty's death, the innocence of everything is gone now, something he isn't used to. Like others said, Captain Hammer always stopped him until now. He didn't want to change the world the way he did, through fear and not peacefully like Betty wanted to. That is why we see Billy at the end. He was heartbroken and ultimately feels guilty for the whole incident

I'd also like to point out the news articles; not one mentioned Betty at all. It just goes to show how much society doesn't care.

  • @MechWarrior894 Who's Betty, I think you mean Penny ;-D Great point ;-)

  • @NikoNoniDK >.< I dun goofed.

  • It's amazing at the beginning of the scene, his voice hints at how he's dissatisfied and upset that he killed an innocent bystander. He now got what he wanted, but was it worth it to him? He doesn't think it was. But seems how Captain Hammer is now gone, he must fill in the shoes of the dominate role. And with that, his facade goes up and what he viewed with disgust he now accepts, feeling entitled to it as he now runs the show. I need a second comment now. >.>

  • @MetalgamesZ Something along the lines of "He hurt me and took my life! I didn't think she would die..." *Sobs*

  • the credits are so sad sounding at first :(

  • @MetalgamesZ i think like, it hit my eyes and it hurt inside, pretty much him whining about pain

  • Seeing Billy at the end is telling. Throughout, we see Billy trying to make it in the real world, and Dr. Horrible doing a blog about how much things suck.

He gets up to a few capers, but he knows they're harmless. He knows Hammer won't let him go too far. Now Hammer's gone, Penny's gone, and Dr. Horrible is free in the world, while Billy is at home blogging about how much things suck.

  • Anyone see Madhorse actually being a horse coming?

  • @iharasu He's the horse that defeated Superman.

  • @its419able . . . what?
