Water cooling isn't pointless since it dissipates more heat than air can which brings us to xboxs overheating problem the CPU/GPU must be running so high enough to burn the thermal paste however cooling is expensive and if a leak springs you could permanently damage your xbox

@tramos361 They both have their pro's. I use both my 360 and pc for games. I play the 360 for the exclusives. Games like new vegas on the pc has a crap load of mods that some are even better than the dlc itself.

If your serious about gaming, a console isn't enough. The graphics are starting to look dated running sub 720p, low textures and jaggies everywhere. I cant stand that shit.

water damage to electronics isn't caused by the water (H20), but it is caused by the lead, iron, copper and other random minerals found in tap water. so yea. it wont short circuit your xbox. and it wont flood your house. its less than 1L of water/gel in there.

Water cooling is better than air because water absorbs heat 30x more than air, but is also expensive because of the Monthly change of cooling liquid, and also a risk if either the tubing fails to the water block and leaks onto any hardware. So...liquid + electricity do not mix so you always have to take a risk >:D!!!!!

Air cooling.

Heat from chip - heatpipe in heatsink

heatsink gets blown by fan and subsequently gets cooled.

Water cooling

water cooling uses water blocks instead of heatsinks to absorb the heat.

Radiator cools liquid----> Reservoir with more fluid in-->pump | water block out -----<---------water block in-------<------------|

However both rely on the temperature of the air around them to cool, so you can never have a processor that's cooler than room temperature without some other means of cooling it.

Things like liquid chillers designed for water cooling are the only way to get it below room temp.
