Wes Craven is the real Freddy because it comes from his own intuition and personality. Mr. Englund just happens to do a better job interpreting this character.
I think people forget about Red Eye of all his major movies, when that one is the most rightening and intense to me. Considering the idea of taking fear to an airplane and the way everything pulls together. I just think people overate other movies over Red Eye, and it's def one of my favs.
Ain't that cool? In the course of this interview, Craven brought up a trip to Africa and the things and ideas he brought back with him to the States. I would hope anyone would feel he is a thoughtful man. I know I do. Also, his strict religious childhood and teen years as well as a father with a horrible temper probably provided ample ammunition in making a movie like last house on the left in the 1970s
Wes Craven, is my favorite director out of everyone. He has a good personality, down to earth guy and makes one of the best scary movies ever. He did great on Nightmare on Elm Street. Horror films wont be the same without him once he is gone. Thank you Wes, for everything!
Not trying to insult the man or anything.. but why is it every time I see Wes Craven.. I think of the wolf man or those 1940s-50s styles how they sorta did the wolfman.. except without the tan lol.
Most of his films are amazing. Scream is My favorite movie. The people under the stairs is one of the most original movies i have ever seen. Defenetly one of the best filmakers ever.
Everyone's got an opinion, which is fine. But I'm confused. I'm guessing you hated Craven before you viewed this video, which begs the question.....why did you click on the link to this video in the first place? Strange.
Dude hes is the best of all flimmakers in the horror part he made one of the best films like last house on the left, night mare on elm st Hill have eyes and people under the stairs hes is on of the best and they remade most of this films because they were great that why they remake films and hes on on the of the great film makers
i will come piss on your gravestone you phoney mtf, Call yourself an artist , you excentric piece of shit, make movies about YOUR MOTHER as she ROTS in her grave will you , how about filming that for some succes , mybe it will later be judged as art in a later grid of reality , LOSER !
I thought about replying to this with some witty comment about learning to fucking spell and not sounding like a total jackass, but it's easier just to block you.
Ok look, if you can go out and prove that you can better Wes Craven, then you can slander him with credibility. Until then you're just someone who doesn't like his films.
THE TRUE HORROR FILM CULT GOD FUCK YA also it was dream warriors that actually made the most movie of all time and beat out many others being number one in box office concsecutively. thats right freddy killed other films
He does seem very interesting. I'm working on a tribute to the Freddy Krueger character, and I may include a short clip from this interview at the end.
Let me help you out on some info for your project Wes Craven named Freddy Krueger after a high school bully that beat him up called Fred Krueger also he got the idea for Freddy Krueger from a thing read about in the paper about kind dieing while haveing a nightmare also when was 7 year old boy there was an old man that went up his window and scayed the crap out of him so told brother and when his brother came back a bat he was gone this is what all made Freddy Krueger
Starman, Halloween, The Thing(This film is better than ANYTHING craven has ever done or will do) Elvis, Big Trouble in Little China, Escape from New York, Assault on Precinct 13.
Hills have eyes 1&2, Last house on the left(terrible film aside from the 'woods' scene) Nightmare on elm street(overrated B movie) Deadly Friend, People under the stairs, Shocker
John Carpenter is a better director than craven is, PERIOD. He has a better body of work, he's worked in more genre's etc. Just compare the filmographies, Carpenter has Golden Globe and Academy award nominations to his credit and his movies are from a technical perspective, FAR superior to craven's.
You're comparing a master like Craven to Cronenberg or Lynch? Then again you probably shouldn't be taken seriously since you can't seem to express yourself seriously.

Not T. Hooper. He is not the best. Even though TCM is brilliant and Poltergeist rules, the rest of his career is stale.
