Shiv Kumar Batalvi is a big loss to the Punjabi Language, Sub-Continent. His poetry was compared in many parts to the likes of Sultan Bahoo, and Bulleh Shah. Shiv wasn't there yet. DEEP POETRY THAT TOUCHES THE SOULS OF HUMANITY. In my opinion, I would consider him the greatest punjabi poet of 2nd half of the 20th century. TOO BAD WE LOST HIM IN HIS 30's.

PS: His poetry is being translated into many languages: English, Spanish, Frensh, German, Russian..etc.

I love this song and all his songs. He is a great, all time poet of Punjabi. You can't even imagine what he wrote about so deeply and keenly. His poetry tells that where a poet can reach. Some of his poetry still goes over my head. To understand his poetry we need to know additional vocabulary and knowledge of Punjabi language, literature.
