  • spectacular song. but they got rid of the best part! the cross cut saw! what the hell.

  • the guy at 0:19 who is that?

  • the guy at 0:21 who is that?

  • DAAABLE BOILAH!!!!!11ONEONEONE

  • Heavens to Prof Harold Hill! THANKS for posting! One of my fave songs from one of my fave Broadway classics! Never fails to put a smile on my face & a spring in my step! You've MADE my day & my week !! CHEERS, mate !! :)

  • One of my favorite movies for about a thousand reasons................

  • The Wells Fargo wagon came down the streets of Philadelphia last weekend. Roll over Wachovia and tell Wells Fargo the news.

  • i saw this play at school

  • I'm gonna be Winthrop for a high school play... LOL hopefully I don't sound too much like little ginger Winthrop here

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! im doing this for a musical audition

  • love Mary Wickes

  • God, I love this movie/musical. Ron is so young--probably not too far beyond the Andy Griffith show. I had "Seventy-six Trombones" and "Marian the Librarian" going through my head for at least 35 years now. So cool. Good memories (and just try to get "Marion the Librarian" out of your head after a day or so).

  • it's wabbit season

  • love this song

  • @fc413 wow, way to be a douche. The character is supposed to have a really bad lisp. Watch the movie you moron

  • I believe the man in the light blue working shirt, with the big Tan hat that sings "Just for Me" is Tom Poston, But I'm not exactly sure. Anyone know?

  • Comment removed

  • @GeneralBurkhalter1 I'm not sure, but according to imdb and wikipedia Tom Poston was never in "The music man". Funny you should mention that because they guy in the light blue jacket and tan hat at 0:21 looks like Bob Newhart! :)

  • Ron Howard was so freakin cute!

  • something special just 4 me!

  • I remember this scene from the movie. Loved "The Music Man". What are the names of those three guys in the quartet?

  • @BarGerMarMeyer The name of those four guys in the Barbershop Quartet, or I guess I should say, they were known as 'The Buffalo Bills'. Did you want their full names? Did you already find this out?

  • @HayRae99 i didnt find out yet, can you tell me? thanks.

  • @HayRae99 The Buffalo Bills.....Originally founded in 1947.In the movie they were: Jacey Squires, Ewart Dunlop, Olin Britt, and Oliver Hix.

  • love the video and LOVEEEEEEEE winthrop

  • "Or it could be..."

ME: A bank that takes your soul.

  • Ron Howard is so cute.

  • I live on a long street which has several Wachovia Bank branches. The Wells Fargo Bank is a-comin' to my street.

  • "Ron" is the name of the actor. The character is Winthrop, who has a terrible lisp and before, never ever talked at all. And that's not his mom, it's his sister Marian, who's just that happy to see him speak. Try WATCHING THE MOVIE before you criticise.

  • @ihartrodatkins Ronnie Howard, as he was known back then. He played Opie on the Andy Griffith Show, then Richie Cunningham on Happy Days. Now he's a director (Apollo 13 among others!)

  • @ihartrodatkins The first time I saw this version of the movie I too thought that Marian was his mom until they said she was his sister. I thought at first he couldn't talk naturally but when i saw this scene for the 1st time i put 2 n 2 together and figured out that he CHOSE not to talk bc of his lisp. I AGREE WWITH U 100% WATCH THE FULL MOVIE AND THEN CRITICIZE if you do NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE you won't look like a idoit as much AGAIN NO OFFENSE IN ANY WAY TO ANYBODY!!!!!!

  • You don't kow the story, do you?

  • @SkaterKairi, yup, I don't know the story. Excuse me....

  • @reutcek

It's obvious you haven't watched the movie. But it's even more obvious that you are an a-hole.

  • my school is doing this musical and im going to audition for harold hill

  • "Somethin' sshshthpeciallllllllll..."

    :)

  • @xbriannaxbananax - Opie as Sylvester the Cat!

  • Go little ROn Howard!!!!!!!!!!!!! Soo cute

  • I prefer the film version. This is very hard to pull off with modern talent in a broadway production and it's obvious that their hearts aren't in it. And how can you beat a cast like Hermione Gingold, Robert Preston, shirley Jones, Buddy Hacket, Ron Howard, that absolutely brilliant Quartet, Exquisite color with Meredith Wilsons melodies and Lyrics supervised by the greatest talents in Holly wood of that period? All that perfection in the greatest distillment of Musical GENIUS ever.

  • Yes, although I have to admit the remake of this movie was fantastic. Not quite as amazing, but still very, very good. And I have to admit, Kristin Chenoweth did a superb job as Marian. Maybe even as good as Shirley.

  • this does not start at the begining.

  • Aww lil Ron Howard is so cuuuute, I wanna smother him with hugs!

  • Ahhhhhhh.. The world before civil rights and the counter culture of the 60s. How did we get so far way from this?

  • i luv this movie and also this song!! <3

  • Little Ronny Howard

  • Little Ronny Howard?

  • Yup. The little red headed boy is Director and Happy Days star Ron Howard. I believe he was around 5 or 6 when this movie was released
