Thank you SO much for this vid (and part 1, obviously); I recently brought my comp into the shop to get some problems repaired, and in the process, apparently a good chunk of my drivers etc. got reset, and my C01U SoftPre was among the victims. It worked just fine before when I installed the software off the CD, but I have no idea where the CD went, and it's not on the site anymore, so I was screwed for a bit there. It's working perfectly now. Again, thank you very much; you're a life-saver.
I just intalled the software for Samson C01U in my windows 7 and I cannot find the USB Audi device in Sounds, video, and game controllers. I am desperated with this. Any idea?

@ChiTownSoja that completely depends on you... Since I naturally speak loudly, i keep it low... For rapping, you will need to experiment with it on both recorded and published. Record the vocal on computer #1. Then, you need to hear the finished recording on another computer to make sure that the sound is not too loud or too soft. Whatever you hear on computer #2 for playback is what you will be selling.
That was excellent.. I have been searching for this info for months, I found a little here and there, but you put it all together nicely. By chance, do you know if this would be the same on a Mac? It looks like some say SoftPre won't work with Leopard OS. Any experience with that?
I would suggest you ditch Softpre and use one of these 2 methods.
1) Record in GarageBand and apply this effect: Real Instrument>Podcasting>iSight Microphone Male. It does an amazing job of removing hiss & background noise and adding bass to the voice, you can also adjust the Speech Enhancer settings for the noise reduction! If you don't like to edit your music in GB....
2) Download Audacity for the mac, record & edit your audio (I think Audacity is easier to edit with than GB), export your audio to your desired format, now drop the audio file in GB and apply the effect I mentioned in #1 to get the same results!!
I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Good luck!
@webtrix1 i'm running logic pro 8, its a great program. its just a new mic for me, so i'll have to play with it a bit in there to figure out which settings i like best :)

which setting would be really good for vocals ??? ...

@45NM45 the softpre is just a preamp... the objective of using a preamp is to get a good signal level
