For an iPhone 4S, make sure you match the current version from your iPhone before deleting Cydia from the directory, if you don't see your current download file, it's NOT going to work; here's the catch my version wasn't available after I'd deleted Cydia; I got the following warning: downgrading cydia from 1.1.4 to 1.1.3; no such file; therefore, I ended up restoring Cydia the original way; I'm assuming these steps ONLY work if the download file matches the current version on your iPhone!

You sort of stop short on the written instruction, where to place the new cydia file to ssh program to be transferred over to the iphone. For other people how to fix:

1- Reinstall blackra1n (if it works then you're done, if it doesn't keep reading).

2- Restore to 3.1.2 (remove jailbreak).

3- Jailbreak with spirit.

4- Jailbreak with blackra1n again but this time DO NOT restore to 3.1.2, but install blackra1n over spirit instead.

5- You're done!

@ArmandEdward go to ./Applications and then right click and select "new" then "new directory" i think that's what it says. Name it "Cydia.app" and then try dpkg -i /"what ever you name this".dem and it will work fine :D

Oh, okay, you weren't supposed to delete the Cydia folder. You have to use the following command: "apt-get remove cydia" (without quotes)

Type that command in the terminal and it will delete cydia for you!

Then run cydia.deb using "dpkg -i cydia.deb" (without quotes).
