I know that moving a herd of animals takes different tactics every time, but it seems like they're all just kind of fragmented into little groups, with no main plan. If one of the elephants they care for gets sick or injured, you bet that the owner's going to be the first to do something about! Hey guys, I was one of the elephants in this video. Things are cool now, it was only a misunderstanding between my herd and the humans. We had no idea we'd trample their crops by just walking. But we also need space too. Humans are everywhere. After a meeting between our leaders, we now walk on the paths and we are cordial with each other.

Then, of course, start killing the poor displaced animals and justify the slaughter/killing/removal by claiming the ANIMALS are a threat to humans or they're destroying farmland; any propaganda will suffice. I've become much less tolerant with 'humanity'. Cruelty, abuse and unnecessary killing of innocent animals is on the rise :(

@elleonhighheels The humans have as much right to be there as the elephants. For the villagers, it's as much a matter of survival as it is for the elephants. I'm sure, however, that there is a better way to chase off the elephants than the way they're doing it in this video, though. If they could figurer out a way to gently herd the elephants away so that the herd doesn't get split or stressed, then the danger level could be decreased immensely for both the people and the elephants.

How are you people so stupid? Elephants would ruin their crops. Absolutely DESTROY their crops. But they didn't push the wild elephants with any skill or strategy - this is a mistake gone extra wrong, but those farmers do not deserve to starve because the local wild elephant population opts to come and eat up all the crops. Their strategy was terrible and the humans were the cause of any loss of life, certainly, but to shoo the herd? Yes, they need to do that!

The animals are being deprived of the natural habitats they need for survival. Humans generally don't seem to see the interdependant ecocycle upon which all life depends.
