@bibinnne Don't like it when people think they are soo gooooood -.- ....
so 12 or not .... dont act like you are everything, at the end you are just a human and will die onces like everyone ... -.- ..... so 12 or not ... you are just human as well :D know that !
@Darkboy2525 Hey I don't say I'm the best of the world. I just try to tell you that if you train a little bit, this piece is doesn't very difficult ! And Hilary's playing that so gooood ! But it's just an affirmation, it's so easy (or just for me) … :)
Before they recorded this, there was already a fast version with Mutter and Lambert Orkis, who also has a beautiful tune. But believe it or not many people like slow music
Sorry to be annyoying - this is very on the slow side. Also the syncopated minims need to withdraw each time with breath in betweeen. Long notes could be more special.
@moldyoreo : It's not unnecessary... Playing Mozart so delicately and perfectly controlled is almost impossible if you only play with your fingers. The arm movements allow the pianist to hit every note very consciously and with just the right touch. How else can you reach this level of perfection (in my opinion)?
i love the she plays. I just started studying the first movement because i was doing the second movement of k301 and this video can be my guide to how I'm suppose to play it. Love it!
She's been big for a while 0_o. I watched a video of her playing like 6 years ago and she was big then. Besides the radio rarely features soloists, at least not in Nevada or Cali
like everyone she makes mistake but she is most consistent out of all the rest and who ever doesnt think so is just jealous shes been my favorite for two years now and i finally heard her on the radion which mde me glad that she is getting big because she deserves it
@euch27 I play Piano and Flute! She was born in Beijing china! sorry can you inboxme on fayventim0 please? it's my accountthis is my daddy's :] s yea!
Sheer perfection! Hilary Hahn and Natalie Zhu are both superb musicians. I would like to hear Natalie play as a soloist as well. Can you upload movements two and three? Thank you.
@jbrahms1833 natalie has taught me before! she is my favorite cousin! she recently came to visit! she has a child named clara! i love her! my aunt is my piano teaher too so yea!
Perfect. I don't think I've ever heard Hilary play out of tune note, and you can Bach Bach Bach all you want with her, but that fact alone makes her SEVERELY AWESOME!!!!
Seriously, that note goes by so fast you don't even notice it. LMAO. I was just making a point, I know she's not perfect. But she does play in tune very very well. On one of the documentaries where she's recording the Lark Ascending, the technician said they always have to edit violin recordings because there are just so many off notes, but they never touched Hillary's. I thought there wasn't footage of her every missing a note, but look at her Last Rose of Summer video. She is human! Hehe.
My violin tracher recommend me to watch Hillary Hahn for violin fingering, but wow...looking at her, for me it going to take decades for me to be like her.
The sound and intonation is just so incredibly focused... The only violinist I ever heard playing that cleanly and perfectly is James Ehnes. But I feel like there is something lacking in the music, some kind of depth or emotional content that I find in other players that don't have such a flawless playing, like Shaham or Vengerov...
Yes. The sound is good here, but there are some strange choices. For instance, at 1:38, the piano part has a melody that is pure genius, and the violin drones a D behind it. The violinist here plays that D loudly and almost drones out the wonderful piano part behind it. Listen to that piano line - brilliant!
Aye. I was never intentionally trying to put Hilary down as much as I did in this thread, but there are just too many people talking about how perfect her every note is. She makes mistakes like everyone else, and yes, this is more of an average than a great performance. I'm glad someone else can listen and judge properly!
To anybody out there who truly knows a whole lot about truly great music, is it a crime or a sign of my musical ignorance that I prefer Mozart over Bach? Mozart is by far my favorite musical composer of all time, although paradoxically my favorite musical period is the Baroque period
Her playing is so near perfect that I find myself falling asleep to it. Some mistake that for boring but my teacher says that if you can fall asleep soundly to one's Bach or Mozart, it was played perfectly because the music is so heavenly and brings attention to your soul not your body so you fall asleep.
Sorry, just though I'd share a lecture from my teacher.
I have to play that piece... It sounds horrible when you play it without piano, I really hate practising it^^ My violin teacher told me to watch it on youtube and now I'm just like ... wow, it sounds actually really NICE =) xD
Yeah, I know what you mean. The Brahms and Beethoven cello sonatas are the same way. It gets really awkward playing the same note for so long when the piano is supposed to have the melody and since you're practicing, there's no piano practicing with you. Sonatas like Beethoven's, Mozart's, and Brahms' are really written for both instruments, but the piano is always overshadowed by the other instrument.
She IS better than Heifetz, at least I like her playing more. And she looks better ;). But I don't know if she is THE BEST. David Garrett is also extremely good. And there are many other fabulous violinists out there. Oh man, I would love to hear them both together in a duet...
Pretty bold claim, but you're entitled to your opinion. But still, David Garrett? x_x For reason I can't stand him...but to each their own. As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters; everybody hears music differently so none is truly more beautiful than another. Even Kant would agree to that....somewhat.
Well, I agree to what you say. I just like her playing the most. David Garrett is, let's say, "different". I have the complete Heifetz collection, and surely it is amazing, but I miss something. Can't say what it is, but I'm not touched by his playing, so I don't enjoy it very much... You said "everybody hears music differently so none is truly more beautiful than another", and you are right with that. If you talk about music, you always talk about opinions. And that was mine.
Nothing to say to her tecnique, but doesn't anybody notice the lack of expression of the whole interpretation? Mainly due to the absence of a phrasing intended to be more than just... cute.
Awesome how they work together, really making it a sonata for both instruments, not just violin. They both get the solo and accompaniment aspects down at the right times.
why on earth are they so far apart? this is not normal. HH is the greatest violinist alive by far. she makes minimal movements with her body, face, etc...and she keeps her mouth closed all the time. she knows how to get out of the way of the music. only Mozart exists when she plays.
This is Mozart at its best.Tonality of instruments is beautiful and sensitivity between players is excellent. A joy to listen to. A comparison with Heifetz is well deserved!May you continue pleasing your fans!!
Even though, i believe the comparison between two violinists from two completely different eras of musical interpretative history, is in itself really out of place, and really pointless...I must say -era stylistic differences aside- that comparing heifetz to miss Hahn, is like comparing red wine to white. One can't just say wich is better, each of them is simply better suited to different ocations and circumstances, still i think i prefer the panache that Heifetz brought to everything he played
After a very tiring day of work in the evening I listen to this Mozart sonata played by Miss Hilary Hahn and afterwards I feel it's like early in the morning ready to work again. It's not an exaggeration.
This is one of the perfect sonata for violin and Miss Hilary Hahn's playing is refinement and elegance. She is a treasure just like the sonata by Mozart she is playing.
