  • This is more an Ashok Kumar song, than Madhubala

  • Madhubala + Lata Mangeshkar = Awesomeness!!....

  • @kal586 You forgot the superstar - Ashok Kumar..... Madhubala's face is not shown in this song, we can only see Ashok Kumar. I think Kamal Sahab followed a similar technique in "Chalo Dildaar Chalo" on Meena Kumari (Pakeezah), where we can only see Raaj Kumar completely.

  • lata is the best, goddess of singing.

  • Anyone knows Geetkar?

  • @eric7860 - Lyrics by J. Nakshab.

  • how a nice song....it will be long time enjoyable....

  • this song gives me the chills such tremendous song

  • What a song and what an early start of Lata Mangeshkar.I still remember when I first heard this song, I was a little child of 8-10 years old. I don´t know what I feel when I listen to this marvelous melody. An other song of this film was also sung by Lata, Mushkil hai Bahut Mushkil chahat ka bhula dena. The team work of Kamal Amrohi, Lata Mangeshkar and Khhem Chadra Prakash is immortal. Even today after sixty one years you enjoy this song more. Lata became Lata after this song. (05th Dec.2010)

  • @mrshahcph - I like what you said "Lata became Lata after this song"!

By the way, I have posted the other song also under the title of "Lata - Mushkil Hai Bahut Mushkil - Mahal [1949]".

    Thank you.

  • The best ever haunting melody of Indian cinema. Lata Mangeshkar at her best. The film an all time classic. Another song of the film still missing in your collection.

"ye raat fir naa ayegi, Jawani beet jaaye gi" :(

Thanks for an evergreen upload. ::))

    Thanks for an ever-green song.

  • @chandrashekharjain - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

    Can someone help please?

    Thank you.

  • What an amazing song, the music, the voice everything about this sing is amazing. Reminds me sitting in my dad's car driving to the markets and he use to put on these classic tracks. All though i haven't listened to bollywood music ( New stuff) for a while makes you wonder what happened to the classic touch that bollywood use to have. Massive thank you for uploading this song.

  • @Munaf28 - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

  • speechless song :(

  • what a wonderful song

  • Hello Yuan. TY. Initially, this film was a disaster at the box office. Ashok Kumar promoted it over All India Radio asking people to see it again and trying to understand what ot was about. People listented to him and the movie was a blockbuster from there on.

Khemchand Prakash made Lata stand in a corner of the recording room and told her to walk slowly while singing the song. Till today, it is one the most favorites of all except Lata. Lata loves "Muskhil hai bahut muskhil" from same film.

  • @RealMusicKing - Thank you my friend for the nice comment.

  • Kamal Amrohi was one of the truly great directors of Bollywood, comparable to David Lean. He later made Pakeeza with his wife, legendary, Meena Kumari, who was destined to play the defineng role of her young career.

  • Lata's voice is so amazingly haunting in this song! Thanks for uploading it here.

  • You are most welcome, my friend AND thank YOU for the sentimental comment.

    Take care.

  • @ZhugeLiang51 This must be the cutest comment on this channel. I can't stop imagining the gramophone player, the needles of that time, the 78 r.p.m. record and your tender little hands touching the record again and again and your mom scolding you.

    So nice :)

  • You are most welcome, my friend.

  • aaaahhhh lataaa....

  • I love this film and especially this, it reminds me of my Mum and Dad. They opened The KOHINOOR Restaurant in Nottingham England in the early fifties and they used to go and see this film separately as one them had to stay at the Restaurant in case a customer came in. Curry wasn't very well known in this country back then. The business went on to be the very best in the 60's and 70's. We were always credited as the first Indian Restaurant in Nottingham!

  • Thank you my friend for the interesting story of the KOHINOOR Restaurant in Nottingham. I am fascinated by the way you "connected" the story and the song together. What a beautiful way!

    Thanks again and take care.
