  • Richter plays it in the same tempo. Cortot on the Salabert edition writes not to play it too slow....it should be like the steps of the people following the coffin ...try to walk slower if you can..

  • People forget that this is a funeral march not a funeral jog or run, the opening notes are supposed to resemble church bells at a funeral

  • Great Pianist! What a performance! Only music and emotions! Thank you!

  • It's nice to see this work get the treatment it deserves for once; i.e. as an epic and profound meditation on death and not an empty vehicule for the piano virtuoso... Thanks for the various "lunga pausa" which Liszt specifically notates in the score...

  • You should hear his B minor Sonata. I heard it in Germany! Incredible!! And the sound..Nobody can play slow parts like Raffaele Mani! He plays a new istrument not just the piano..

  • Very nice, go on like this, your'e VERY VERY VERY good.

I know him personally, his very friendly!

  • Well, I don't know if it is a compliment....all I know is that I heard the man live and I still have got shivers on my back! Yes, he can be agressive, he can scare you...then he can be so sweet and tender and bring you into tears...what an experience..what an emotional trip...

  • Great playing and great filming and editing.... reminds me of Jean-Claude Van Damme at the piano. Maybe that is a good thing, The toughness of this piece is ´like fighting.

  • Grande Raffaele !!! Ciao Andrea
