I noticed the year of this video is from 1974. I was curious if this recorded before or after the April 3rd & 4th Super Tornado Outbreak - Part 1, The Original Version?
Someone went to interview him who had a similar type of accent that he had here, and he said to get rid of that type of accent if you wanted to be on TV. He obviously was speaking from experience.

Holy cow. His speech pattern is just the same, the drawl has been dialed back, but there is no doubt that this is James Spann. I'm not sure if that was the hairstyle that was in fashion, or if he was rocking the combover already.
At 2:05, he throws a little glance over his shoulder that I've seen him do a thousand times.
James told me on twitter this was before the Super Outbreak.
