Awesome, thank you so much for sharing this piece of history & these amazing patriots, in spite of receiving, less than their due, honor at home. The true story is much more interesting, than the movie "Red Tails."
No matter what people say about this movie, to a certain degree, it did happen; what I think about is how many lives would have been spared, in many events had they allowed us to participate...many people have lost their lives because of this ignorance in America...someone should be held accountable!
Aint that a bitch you get better respect in a foreign country which believe in white suppioraty than your own country which at the time it was said to be "free", kinda sad to be honest! These guys are beasts though and legends, respects!.
@FreeFOXMIKE what about the 54th infantry of the civil war? or the 555th paratroopers of ww2? I respect all war heroes especially the ones who fought in our wars and had no respect when they came home.
14 years after the Little Big Horn, the 7th Cavalry was entrapped in a box canyon, and if it wasn't for the 9th Cavalry, there would have been a second massacre of the 7th Cav.
The Buffalo Soldiers, 9th Cavalry was rewarded with Presidential Parade Escort and Guard Duties for accomplishments, furthermore; the 9th Cav. received as many citations as most of the white cavs.
Read the epic novel, "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
people forget, what these men did for the freedom we enjoy now. It is not that the constituion says we have this freedom, It is because these soldiers fought for it, for us.....And I thank them and I salute them.
its sad that the nation turned their backs on the great heroes who were born black,
glad to say such racism is not as bad in this age and time,
I hope one day the true equality comes to be and the people can unite to realise the huge number of acts that African-Americans have made to create their share of today's world.
Its shocking to see that even Nazi Germans treated the black man with respect but Americans (not all) could not do so and these men went to war for them... wow breaks your hart
So these black Americans flew aircraft during WW2 in the name of the US Apartheid Regime of the time. Willing to die for a country that considered them as second class citizens is really something.
That they never suffered a single loss of a bomber is not true. In fact they lost as many as 25 bombers as the records show. Look it up. They still deserve their respect though, don't get me wrong.

Wow As a American it's pisses me off that the Nazi treated the Black pilot with most respect then the country he was fighting for .

It's a pity that credit that was due to them came too late in their lives.

At 2:13 is a Me-262 being shot down in a dogfight.
christof139 2 years ago
Put this in you youtube search:
TUSKEGEE BLACK AMERICAN PILOTS DEFEAT NAZI JETS
3 Me-262s shot down for the loss of no USA bombers or fighters in one engagement.
This squadron never lost one bomber under its protection.
Yes, there was segregation & slavery etc. in the USA & in Australia & many countries in the past. Ever hear of the 'segrgation' in nazi Germany?
The most decorated unit in US Army history was the Japanese-American 442nd Inf. Regt.

There is way too much myth surrounding this unit. Honorable men but their legacy if overblown.
DeathToLiberalism 2 years ago
What myth s might that be? That they chose to fight racism for thr right to fight and die for America? That in southern states they could vote?

fred5399 2 years ago
I checked as of 2007 the airman did lose 25 bombers to fighters. You are right. They do as you said deserve thier resepct.
fred5399 2 years ago
Yeah no big deal, I almost feel like an asshole for bringing that up now. They were and are great men regardless.
