  • Well nice effort. Not exactly their with the drum beats and timing though, Oh and BTW darren king doesn't use a crash cymbal

  • Work on your timing and independence (keep your hi-hat on constant quarters, eighth notes or sixteenths or any combonation)

then repost the cover of this song because Darren not only has great chops but he also has flawless timing and feel

  • @Moog167 I don't know if you realised or not? but this isn't Darren... stop comparing her to Darren, He's probably been playing for 20 or more years and this person has probably been playing for a few years or more... cut them some slack

  • @ned2one Hey man I didn't say she suck did she? I enjoyed the video but It was just constructive criticism because I wanna see a fellow drummer succeed. Is that wrong?

Also Growing up as a musician I've received harsher words from musicians I looked up to because they saw my potential.

The reason why I'm including Darren is because he's the drummer on the song I ALSO didn't say play the song note for note I talked about making the song feel good. Relax I'm not bashing anyone.

  • @Moog167 I think I may have clicked on the wrong person to reply too...I can't remember who I was trying to talk too.. Sorry

  • dude do you have a squeeb? lol

  • nasty hi hats and your drums... just all of it is a lil messed up, but it seems messed up cause everyone is used to darren's noise and any ways it is better :]... but good job thow

  • the begining intro is the hi hat only no cymbals

  • he could be mixing the live version with the album. Live he does use cymbals.

  • Even so, he wants to make it his own! Its all about being an individual!

Good job on the cover man!

  • I like the cover, but spring for some new hi hat cymbals. They sound nasty closed.

  • couldn't agree more, could use some upgrades all around...

This is actually my first set:

    Set: Pearl Forum Series

    Toms: 8", 10", 16" w/ stock "Pearl Protone Heads"

Ludwig Weathermaster Snare with stock head

    Cymbals:

    Pearl 14" hihats,

    Pearl 18" Trash/Ride

  • Lol nice.

You should look at the Sabian B8 and B8pro series. My favorite sounding series for such a cheap price.

  • Nooooo if your looking for good but cheap get the sabian xs20.

also i'd recommend some remo emperor heads or fiberskin.

ANd now that i think of it some moon gel or gaffer tape to get rid of overtone. haha

  • I wouldn't even go with the B8's just go on craigslist and find some used sabian AAX's or any of their other professional lines.....

  • Nice dude. Just like everyone else said, work on your timing. And your drums do need tuning a little. :-\ Anyways, where'd you get the tab/sheet/whatever notation you used for this song? I'd love to learn it.

  • tune you'r drums man

  • pretty good. keep trying. work on your timing.

  • Good job, would you ever try to drum cover Reset? I know it sounds impossible, but you still could try.

  • That song is impossible you can't tell the difference in the drums and electronics

  • yer you can.

  • charge your ipod

  • holy dogshit! work on your timing. all of your fills would have sounded great if they were in time. For example, at 1:08, you're too occupied trying to hit the snare drum so much that you lose timing, and you stop hitting the hi hats for a second to figure out where you are. also, i think youre doing rimshots the entire time. if you just hit the snare normally, you would get some bounce, and your "fancy" snare hitting would actually sound good and in time.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if most people that hate on drum-cover video don't play drums at all. This really isn't all that bad. Some rough parts here and there, but hey, no big deal. I'm no pro myself, but work on your timing. Also, the biggest deal I'm sure people are hating on you for is that you're doing quarter/eighth notes on the high-hats during the verses instead of sixteenth notes - really, no big deal. Over all, not bad.

  • this is the worst...

  • Please, mutemath, provide me with some blinding insight... I would die for a record of your skill on the drumset or your a more detailed critique...

Actually, sorry I posted this video for embed purposes only, so I hope I occupied your life for atleast 4 minutes and 2 seconds and made you feel better for a bit. Thanks and have a nice day, jackass.

  • haha!!! i glad occupied someof your life in this lame comeback...took me 5 seconds.

  • oh my Jesus. that was not even close. try again.

  • sorry. delete that.

  • this is wrong

  • dude learn the song

  • all the comments fuck that it was fuckin good! bro you should do the whole entire thing put in transitions and some sepia and black and white and your good for a good fin vid...

  • That's an awesome cover! but...we don't see all your drum :(
