Hey Folks..this was more realistic than you think. Some people already have it in their minds that a shopping trip will be a hassle; often it is. Having grown up in a Publix family, I can ASSURE you the courtesy and friendliness shown by these Publix Pros is genuine and goes down to the bone. My dad worked 40 happy years there; and told people Mr. George knew how to bring out the very best in his employees. Every time I shop I can tell that his philosophy is alive and well.

That was 1985 Publix, and Winn Dixie too,!,had far better training then. In fact Walter Cronkite himself was the voice in many WD training films.

When this expert sort of training was phasing out 1989'ish, it left employees who were taught to teach new

commers thier role. Having to train with no expierence and taking a good fraction of the trainers time to train became a disaster in the long run.

Bring back the high quality proffesionaly made films to the supermarkets!

I worked for Publix 8 years, I was full time 7 out of the 8 years in produce.I also worked for Albertsons too for about a year.The store by my house, I see them screwing their associates,at least in the produce dept.Leaving garbage from the morning crew for the night guys, floral garbage,half the truck not finished 50% of the time etc.And I've seen some real workers there. The managers still leave at 4-5pm regardless.Not like the old days.
