Just because Biden said he wants everyone to go to college doesn't mean he is trying to give out free scholarships. Also, wasn't literally telling students to be naive. He thinks you can eliminate everyone's carbon footprint? He obviously doesn't realize that a carbon footprint is a measurement of the environmental impact of all emissions, not just excess that isn't a byproduct of necessary to function (ex cars). That is just one of the reasons why he isn't given a lot of attention by the media.
The democrats wanted more than an incremental change so they added a deficit in order to pay for those changes. I don't see the hypocrisy... Good response. It's true though: a lot of politicians try to rally the base and make promises they can't keep. However, it doesn't mean they are truly naive of the impossibility of creating a "utopia", its just that they are willing to tell the public what they want to hear, in order to keep their political approval at comfortable levels. Your historical context is not factually based.

Just because Biden said he wants everyone to go to college doesn't mean he is trying to give out free scholarships. Also, wasn't literally telling students to be naive. He thinks you can eliminate everyone's carbon footprint? He obviously doesn't realize that a carbon footprint is a measurement of the environmental impact of all emissions, not just excess that isn't a byproduct of necessary to function (ex cars). That is just one of the reasons why he isn't given a lot of attention by the media.

Also, (though the analogy isn't 100% accurate since you can't really equate an idea to a person you love) what if you don't "love" your country as it currently is? You wouldn't mind making drastic changes then would you? Ideologies are only the basis for being a rational political thinker. No one completely adheres to one. Just thought I'd put it out there.

Good response. It's true though: a lot of politicians try to rally the base and make promises they can't keep. However, it doesn't mean they are truly naive of the impossibility of creating a "utopia", its just that they are willing to tell the public what they want to hear, in order to keep their political approval at comfortable levels. I don't think a lot of politicians realize how dangerous this kind of thinking is. Let's hope most take it with a grain of salt.

One pertains to money owed,the other pertains to budgetary matters. But this is all IRRELEVANT as it was not the topic of discussion.

Look at the website with the national debt clock and you will get your answer, it is not what you are saying here. The congress allocates spending, the Democrats controlled the expenditures for the last two years of the Bush administration. Republicans controlled expenditures for 6 years of the Clinton administration, the ones where we ran a surplus. Look in a civics text it will confirm that congress allocates spending. Your historical context is not factually based.

Our carbon footprint would be zero does not mean we would all be dead. Organic human life is carbon neutral. This is because any carbon emitted by human beings is a function of the foods we eat. The foods we eat are ultimately products of photosynthesis consuming co2 and thus naturally in balance. This process may be affected by modern agriculture.

Organic human life is NOT carbon neutral. What you are describing is a carbon neutral ecosystem. There is a BIG difference. In fact, carbon is always neutral, because we have not figured out how to split carbon atoms or fuse carbon atoms to create other elements. The same is true of oxygen. Life depends on carbon and oxygen because they are easily commutable elements that carry energy. And yes that energy originates with the sun via photosynthesis and ends up as heat.

Actually, Life and Carbon Neurtrality have no necessary link.
Release of carbon from resevoirs such as fossil fuels adds more carbon to the atmosphere.
Capture of carbon through photosynthesis etc removes carbon.
Unless you eat coal (which would be pretty cool) life itself is neutral. All our food comes from photosynthesis.
offsetting the release of carbon using carbon capture and storage, and reduction of emissions using other fuel sources means carbon neutrality is possible- but difficult

Mars has ice caps but they are melting, Europe a moon of Jupiter and basically a clump of ice is melting, Jupiter has become 6 degrees Celsius warmer and even Pluto has become warmer from -233 to 230... ever seen a SUV drive on a gas planet? What is the common factor then? Look in the sky at that glowing thingy. The sun cycle is becoming colder again so the global warming scare is now renamed into climate change so you think its still warming.
