the BTTF movie cars which were deloreans had a Porsche engines installed by the movie makers. In fact, look at some of the scenes in the BTTF movies where the car revs up and listen 2 the torque.

I also heard it was a Porsche engine powering the BTTF Delorean DMC-12 not surprising as the Renault 2.8 litre V6 engine combined with a cat converter tumbled the power down to something like 130 BHP making it nothing special.

The new stage 3 package that DMC of Houston is coming out with should have about 238 hp. They'll release next probably next year when they start making Deloreans from scratch. I can't believe the Delorean is making a comeback! I so happy I can almost cry!

It's not a Hemi, it's a 440 R/T Six Pack. DMC has originally 140 HP, not 170.

the original engine had 170 hp it was then reduced to 130 because of American emission laws all of the catalic converters etc that were fitted, so yes acctually it was 170, research if you dont believe me.
