@nuveeka. In the personal blogs of ordinary ppl, I think it pretty common in other countries as well not to reveal their personal info. Now that Maru appeared on a TV commercial and published a book and a DVD, I guess it even more important for them to maintain their privacy so that they can live in peace.
Mugumogu is a woman. I bought the Maru book and mugumogu is referred to as "she/her." But even in the publication, she did not reveal her real name. The same screen name is just used. In the blog, a male "housemate" is also referred to twice as far as I've noticed. She once posted their photos in her blog when they went out with Maru. But their faces were hidden. They photographed themselves only to show Maru put in a carry bag or held in their arms.
@morningstar0063 Im so wonder why they have to be so secret. I think they should be PROUD of their cutie fluffy smart as hell cat. They (espescially she) train Maru so well!. If I were her, I would announce to the world " I AM THE MARU's OWNERRRRRRRR"
Yes! I was just going to write that you could hear his repressed laugh. lol But I enjoy the way he films; it's about Maru and we're not forced to listen to music and the other junk folks throw into their videos -- basically ruining what was once a good thing. I'm glad Maru's person has kept it simple. d:
I don't know any girl that does that. LOL And women, being vain by nature, a gal would have exposed herself by now. I mean, she'd want to be in that magazine featuring Maru and everything -- then it would be all about her and not the cat.
I agree that in most cases, girls like attention and would at least show up. But in case of both Maru and mugumogu, they are different. Maru is not a very ordinary cat, and that might be caused by how his owner treat him. In other words, maybe Maru's owner is a bit different from ordinary, too. Also, based on the other Japanese cat home videos I've seen, no onwer shows their face, at all. There is one popular blog, the owners used photoshop to blurr out their face.
And it's not just cat owners being secretive about their faces. From what I've seen, 99% Japanese manga artists don't put their photograph on the "author's words" spot.. They always use their pets, their toys, their cartoony face, whatever things but their photographic faces. It seems in Japanese tradition, keeping quiet is an essential aspect of manner. The quietness might also bring secrecy and introversion. Nevertheless, the newer generation of Japan may not be the same anymore.

I don't know if the owner is a guy. Their hands are too small, and too well groomed for a man.
But good point, Maru's entertaining enough that we don't need any other kinds of filler to hold our attention while he engages in his childish antics

It's an incredibly un-embellished apartment.
I call dude. :D And thx for being so nice.
scriptum60 2 years ago
But it's also very clean, and sparsely furnished, and I don't know any guy that does that.

Word is Maru will be 2 on either May 24th or 25th... so he would have been a little over a year old when this was taken.
Yes, I agree... he has grown!
