That "star" is probably Jupiter. And as for there being no stars, that's because cameras and your eyes work differently (your eyes having a higher dynamic range). A camera exposes the amount of light desired by the photographer. In this case the subject are the clouds. This means that the dimmest objects in the scene, which are the stars, will be underexposed or not visible at all in the exposed image. And the brightest object, the moon, is overexposed.

Some research I've done indicates that it is in CITIES with concrete etc. that there has been an increase in temperature whcih makes sense because it retains heat.
Also there were some tests of what the temperature at high altitudes has been doing and they found no warming going on.
The Globlal Warming issue I read is becoming as heated as religious beliefs.
I guess that in the end, people really don't like not understanding things like weather patterns. I just hope that people become informed and are intellectually honest enough to admit it if they are wrong.

noctilucent clouds are a result of (among other things) the 300 metric tons of hydrogen and water vapor put into the atmosphere by the space shuttle as it is launched. i'm sure someone will pipe up about global warming here.

I believe god was created to give people hope....to give ease to the mind that there is something else after death. God may not be real i believe we evolved just has religion did too. Who knows if the first people worshiped some form of god. It is just a figure that all people can relate to all everybody needs hope :)

The clouds we see are only in the stratosphere which isn't high compared to the rest of the earth's atmosphere. These clouds are for close to space which is rare.

Does it matter? This is a beautiful creation of nature. Whatever you're beliefs are then I think we can at least agree on it being magnificent. Perhaps God created it as a guise for his son, perhaps it's a normal occurrence in our world. It's still beautiful! I personally doubt it's Christ's return for he claimed he'd come like a ghost in the night, and I seriously doubt I could outsmart God by guessing when the rapture will come. It will happen when it happens, so there is no use in guessing.

yes, the sun goes through an 11 year cycle from low activity/output to high and back to low again the next high will occur in 2013 as we are just emerging from a deep minimum that is lasting longer than usual, The peak is estimated to be below average.

Some research I've done indicates that it is in CITIES with concrete etc. that there has been an increase in temperature whcih makes sense because it retains heat.
Also there were some tests of what the temperature at high altitudes has been doing and they found no warming going on.
The Globlal Warming issue I read is becoming as heated as religious beliefs.
