@JLVDRUM jimi hendrix was a phony...tre uses the same tricks he copied from muddy waters and such, AND TREY sounds better, AND trey has a better band with more difficult songs...so yeah, stay on that jimi hendrix bandwagon buddy....he was more of a copycat than Trey.

I am a little ashamed to say this...I've been a big Phish phan since 2003 and have never seen the boys live. I got into them after they already completed most of their 2003 shows, and I couldn't see them in 2009 because I was really broke last year and the shows sold out fast as hell. I've made it a personal mission to see them at least once before I die.

I had been into phish since 97-98, and was supposed to see em in nashville 2000, but didn't. then they went on hiatus and I didn't get to see them until greensboro 2003. That show was amazing, I'm so glad I got it as my first show. check it out if you haven't heard it, it's one of the best phish shows I've ever heard. And I'm not sayin that just cause I was there.
If your a huge phish fan and you have never seen them, that first show will be one of the best times of your life, I'll never forget my first. hope you get to see them really soon. And 2003 era is one of the best, rivaled only by 97-98.
Hey man you know what you're talking about! I actually love 2003-2004 and agree its one of their peak touring periods. I have to agree that the singing/energy was not as good as previous years but the jams are magnificent. Winter '03 has at least one or 2 epic jams per night. Its actually funny you mention Greensboro b/c that's like one of the 1 or 2 shows from that year I've never heard. Anything 1997 and after is best. Also I just got my tix for Deer Creek night 2 today!!
@disgruntledbear 03-04 are good but nothing will have the energy of 91-96. 98 is one of my favorite years, so phunkin phunky i love it. but 91-96 were thier tightest years. trey was on the brink of insanity when he played. they were all on fire all night. and 03-04 i thnk trey was too fucked up somtimes, but for the most part they were kickin ass.
