  • WHO THE HELL WOULD DISLIKE THIS??? WOW...

  • That was a great band too but if I had to choose between the two I would go with this band even though both groups take us to another level never attained reached before. Art - paintings, music is great if the art stands the test of time if it still amazes us every time we listen or view it. And that's what this band does to me. I don't listen to Miles In The Sky over & over even though it's amazing but 'Relaxin', Workin', Cookin' etc I am because Coltrane's irrefutable genuis playing.

  • Miles & Trane were the two best jazz musicians ever period. Just listen to the way Coltrane enters - makes the hair on the back your neck stand doesn't it? Philly Joe Jones & Paul Chambers were out of this world heavy weight original geniuses too. And without Red Garland this band wouldn't have sounded this great. What working band was better - made as many great great albums as this band that will be listened to in awe for hundreds - if not thousands - of years?

  • @adeduction

Many people say his second quintet with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter & Tony Williams was even more a really unique Miles Davis Band. I think I'd share that opinion even though his Trane/Garland/Chambers/Jones quintet was and is still one of the greatest things on earth.

  • some things just can't be put into words..
