  • Oh goshh i like get it now!

  • Does the field magnet have to be shaped as a horse shoe?

  • @RagingBubuli No but it almost always will be for the sake of space conservation.

  • but if the magnets were moving in the center and the coils are surrounding the the magnets, will it still generate electricity? Please answer

  • @ImAsianYourNot Yes. An electric current can be produced either by moving magnet inside a coil or vice-versa. Cheers.

  • Thanks thast helped me understand what I needed to know.

  • @tikranbayatian way to keep it short and sweet

  • you will die in seven days if you don't post this comment on 10 videos in the next hour. if you do, tomorrow will be the best day of your life

  • so if there is a steam turbine powering an electric generator, at what point does the mechanical energy of the turbine transfer to electrical energy in the generator? for example, in a nuclear reactor if there is steam from the core powering steam turbines which are powering generators, what are the steam turbines DOING exactly to "power" the generators? in this video it seems like nothing is "powering" the generator? or am i missing something

  • @Cervy18

The steam is used to rotate the coil which cuts the magnetic field...thus generating the current. That is all the steam does.

  • @keplerlaw ahh i see, thank you

  • @Cervy18 the steam spins the turbine witch in turn spins the generator and the generator produces the power. so the turbine is simply the device to spin the generator. and the generator makes the electric current to power homes and everything else

  • Saved my life for my science final!

  • brilliant, thanks for the help

  • Thank you, I never understood how this thing works, Now it's easy to get it, thanks

  • Thank you so much. This was a quick and easy way to learn about generators for my science project. Again, thank you!

  • God bless you magical Science homework fairy.

  • you need better drawings

  • good enough but there is problem with sound

  • no sound!

  • Nice and simple

    Cool

  • Thanks

  • thanks steve im currently training as a marine engine driver and these tutorials are awsome for me as the are easy to understand cheers

  • i like animations better

  • I got disappointed when I first heard about generators how they really work. I mean its so simple!

  • grazie mille volte ancora !!!!!thanks a lot thousands of time!!!

  • thanks! :D

  • thanks that was very useful

  • Thanks Steve Jones! Your video helped me understand a lot better

  • Please Give the derivations and theories for:

    1) energy stored in an inductor

    2) ac generator

    3) dc generator- dc motor

    4) back motors effect

    5) transformer

Sir i need these lectures or any one of you can give me a lecture link.

    Waiting...!

  • thanks steve man i love u haha lol thanks alot

  • Does it produce an electrical current because of the dynamo effect? Need a reply soooooonnnnn....physics is tomorrow

  • thanks dude,

  • awesome

  • thanks

  • thanks steve for making my life easier:)

  • Ditto that. (:
