in the 90s he was a leading part of the english tabloids that ripped into Michael Jackson and others and twisted stories and invaded peoples privacy

he was fired from TWO newspapers because of his crude journalistic techniques and he was found guilty by the press complaints commission to have breached the code of conduct

he is not what he appears to be here

I have to say one thing before I finish watching this interview..Piers is an awesome interviewer. He really knows how to make the person being interviewed feel comfortable, he allows the viewer to actually see the real person who's being interviewed. Kudos to you Piers! This is a great interview :) That part where Janet reflected on Michael got me teary eyed. It is so true, not a day goes by where I don't think about him, I know many fans feel the same </ 3

if you look at her face from 11:27 - 11:45 when she is listening to Piers talk about Michael's words being similar to hers, she is really holding in some emotion there. it just shows you how hard she works to stay composed during these interviews. i think some people think she's "fake" during interviews. i think she's just in control of herself. and, like we've all heard plenty of time before, she's a private person...even in interviews. she doesn't wanna give too much away.

To the MJ family. As hurt and devastated as we are, we cannot possibly understand what this family is REALLY experiencing. We "feel" like we grew up w/ this family but, the reality is we did not LIVE in their household. We did not interact w/them daily. We didn't attend family reunions, birthdays, etc. We simply do not know everything. As we watched the media attempt to destroy him, we became fiercely protective. However, MJ is HER brother. LOVE... We talk about it, now let's be about it. Peace.

@ylvette while I understand what you're saying, I loved MJ like a family member. When he died it was like losing a family member. And I think I can speak for many of his fans. Ive heard so many people say exactly this. I really cannot explain it, except to say God gave the world this special person MJ. His lose devastated people worldwide. Janet says she thinks of Mike everyday -- so do I. He was like a part of us. IT's still difficult to accept he's gone. Peace to you :)

I watched this last night on CNN. Afterward, it dawned on me how gracious and respectful a host Piers actually was. Unlike 97% of "journalists" who think the name Michael Jackson is synonymous with sexual and drug abuse, Piers took the high road and chose to focus on the positive. Bravo! I loved the story of Janet and MJ driving around giving out food to the homeless. " I don't need this stinkin" food. Now, that's laugh out loud funny!
