It sounds like you make have an unwanted source of IR light. The Wiimote will lock onto any IR that it finds. Try covering the IR camera in front of your Wii remote and see if that frees your mouse. If it does then you definitely have stray IR. Find it and cover it, maybe with black electrical tape. If you scan the area with a night shot camera you should see any IR in the area. Smooth board is the best softare available for turning your Wii-remote into a mouse.

XD just imagine if you needed the blutooth reader thingy then find someone with a blutooth headset connected to there computer then mess with them with the wii ramote (wiimote)
It doesn't need to.... The Wii one doesn't really plug in either. It just provides power is all. You can have it plugged in to our wII and put it on your moniter. Or you could make your own using 2 LED lights. Or you could by a wireless sensor bar.
Through Bluetooth somehow. I don't know how exactly the IR pointer thing works, but it just does -- without the sensor bar hooked up to the receiver -- trust me.
the sensor bar doesn't recieve or send any data. all the data is sent by bluetooth sraight to your wii (or pc). the sensor bar is two led lights that are powered by the wii, nothing else.
the sensor bar is what gives the wiimote the ability to be a pointer. the IR sensor senses these lights and attributes them to a position. without the IR lights you are just using the meter that senses the wiimotes movement.
You're correct, but there are scripts for GlovePIE (a freeware) which can do the same with a 'sensor bar', or rather any pair of IR light sources.. google it.
you could also just set up 2 candles or 2 small sources of infra-red light to use the infra-red camera in the wiimote to use the movement of the wiimotes camera to control the mouse movement on the computer
@SamyAdel9 thats where ur so definitely wrong. the wii remote doesnt have an accelerometer. the wii remote is just a housing to a small chip as small as ur middle finger, the remote is to make stuff fancy cos i wouldnt imagine that they'd give u a small chip and wave it around like an idiot. the weight of the remote on the other hand includes the speaker embedded into it, the port to connect the nunchuk into it and the vibrator chip so that the wii remote can vibrate when certain games ask so.
wow. how genius, impressive too. but my question is: probable? convenient? it doesn't seem easier to use than a touchpad or a mouse, but i'd say those ppl making the original script are rly good at this.

Decenium 2 years ago 2
The pointing that is used by the Wii is using that sensor bar that is two InfraRed LED's to tell the Wiimote's InfraRed camera where the screen is.
For now you'd need to use the accelerometer in the Wiimote for some sort of feedback.
