Ahaha....I moved from FL, hurricane central, to Wyoming, hail central, but the lightning storms are magnificent anywhere..as long as ur not struck that is. lol.
It actually gets weird if you stop the video at exactly 0:40 and you think, wow, why the wreck are the street lights on... And then on the next second, it becomes obvious why...
Thanks for watching and commenting! For a split second, night turned into day! There is some amazing lightning strikes in New Mexico... most of it is dry lightning. Very dangerous! Don't forget to check out my other 2 videos; Lightning Caught On Camera. Storm #2 and #3.
Other than what I have mentioned in previous comments, I don't have any additional complaints. This camera has been a great purchase and a major step up from my Sony Cybershot. Using a tripod will get you professional results with the pictures and video. The HD video mode is the only mode that does not have image stability. To get a good sense of quality, check out my other videos as all of my videos on youtube have been recorded with this camera! For the price, your getting a great camera
The M1093 IS does NOT come with a SD card. You have to purchase one separately. I recommend purchasing a Class 6 8 GB SDHC card (about $25-$30 bucks) and if you can afford it, get 2 of em! (2 of em gives you about 1hr 30mins of HD video recording and thousands of pics.) I also bought 2 more propriatary batterys for the M1093 IS (about $20-$25 bucks each) which gives me enough power and memory for a whole week of video recording. The "class 6" speed will xfer the vids/pics to ur PC fast!!
I have a few SD cards laying around the house..Does the SD have to be SDHC in order to record hd videos? Because i have a 4gb sd laying here and dont want to necessarily spend money yet.
$130 is a good deal. I paid $150. I think that the still quality look great and alive with color. It takes panaramic pics and stiches the 3 pis up real nice! Takes great action pics too! Lots of presets to choose from. Great battery power! What I don't like about it is that the HD video does not have image stablization except for the 640x480 resolution setting. Also, when zooming in and out, you can hear it on the recorded video. But these are small annoyences. It's an excellent camera!!
Thanks for the comment! I purchased the Kodak M1093IS mainly for the HD video. I also considered the Kodak V1073 but I am not a fan of the "touch screen" and the battery life of the M1093IS last longer than the V1073. What I don't like about the M1093IS is that when you view the pics/video on ur camera, the lens stays extracted. It won't retract back into the camera. The lightning bolt title of this video was taken as a still from video footage with the M1093IS. It's a GREAT camera to have.

What kind of SD card did your camera come with? I'm thinking about purchasing one and am wondering will I have to buy a SDHC card separately?

No. A normal SD card will work with this camera. I've tried the microSD with a SD adapter and that works too!
