Is there any footage of the 180 crank version anywhere to be seen? And what DB levels does the RS500GP run at? As most UK trackdays have strict noise rules now. Speaking of which is there any UK approved agent/dealer???
PS - an utterly gorgeous creation. Quality, emotion, evolution, desire all have been skillfully entwined in this work of art screamer. A credit to the creators indeed.
The bike looks brilliant and brings back old memories of two stroke madness but you seriously need to take it to the track with multiple onboard cameras and a good Video Editor afterwards to make your product really shine!
While we all wait for the 2 stroke savior to be built, and don't get me wrong, this could be it. We just ask for the opportunity to "clothe" the followers of said savior. While riding this machine from 2 stroke heaven or watching it, with one of our shirts or hoodies on, would make this day complete and perfect.
GENIUS GENUIS GENIUS!!! RELIABILITY WITH POWER!? UNBELIEVABLE!! THE APRILIA WAS CLEARLY MADE FOR A TWIN CYLINDER 500 ENGINE, NOT ANY OF THESE CHEAP BOTCHED JOB V4'S THAT GET PUT INTO THAT BEAUTIFUL CHASSIS...I MEAN LOOK IT FITS PERFECTLY WITH HARDLY ANY MODIFICATION?!? UNREAL PLUS IT WEIGHS THE SAME AS THE 250 ENGINE...ITS A DREAM COME TRUE....TWO STROKE SHOP YOU WILL BE HEARNG FROM ME SOOOOOOOOON!!!
website and bikes look sweet - but "testing" looks backyard amateur... no racetracks around? You guys are gonna kill yourselves "testing" and I won't be able to import one to the USA
nice bike, any chance of a job working on these? I wanna move to NZ anyway and I already built a GSXR400 with a 750 motor.....you guys also drive on the left like the UK, which is a bonus :)
just a question, can the next video have maybe an onboard shot? i do love this video, but we all know that a rs 250 can handle, it does not really show off the speed difference between this and a normal rs? maybe next video have it reving out and let us know what its geared to so we may have an understanding?
Been following the progress of this bike for a year now, IT'S IN PRODUCTION you can actually buy it. Find out more about this bike and a crazy two stroke 1100cc 3 cylinder engined zx10r by typing in TwoStrokeShop in google choose first link.
I think i just fell in love! I have a RGV250 and that thing goes nuts..i cant even imagine the power and joy of ridding this incredible machine. It would have twice the power of my RGV AND still weight the same!!
I'm getting a loan, i don't care how much it costs!!
this thing has got me hooked :O ive always been so in love with 2 strokes and i gotta get myself a rz350 bottom end for this would be a sick project any1 know if the rz250 and rz350 use the same bottom end?
Yes, RZ250/350 bottom ends are the same; except some early 1983 RZ250 engines used LC cranks, which have 1mm narrower big ends/ a narrower crank overall. Still, these cases can be machined to accept the wider YPVS crank. These RZ250 engines with LC cranks also ran LC flywheels/stators. The stator stud pattern is different from LC to YPVS; however you can interchange the stator mounting plates. 2T oil pump/worm drive shaft differs from 250 to 350. Banshee cases are the same as YPVS too.
At which engine speed does this engine produce its peak power? The Yamaha Banshee engine it is based on produced maximum power at 7,500 Rpm. Have the port positions been modified (for the cheetah cylinder) to produce best efficiency at a higher engine speed?
Love it! What is it about the sound of a well tuned two-stroke? I do not know, but I do know I cannot rest until the day i have one of these of my own. This one does not sound very high rev'ed for a two-stroke though, it sounds more torqy I think. And is this the 90 degree crank we are listening to ? It love to see more flat out drive-by videos, and perhaps onboard with good sound too.
Yes this is the 90 degree crank, which explains the deeper engine note. We also build engines with 180 degree cranks, for that classic high-pitched two-stroke wail!

1. New Zealand looks like a bikers heaven.
and;
2. I FUCKING WANT ONE.
Is it just two 250cc single cylinders stuck together?
Either way, bring back two stroke power.
So much better than 4 stroke for performance!

Peak power is 112HP @ 9800rpm. The cylinder porting has been customised by 500GP engineer Wayne Wright for this road/race application.

hi i was wondering how this engine would go up against a yamaha r6?
involved in speedway racing and looking for something to destroy these worked r6's which a dominating our sport...

@tkubecek An R6 would have ZERO chance up against this thing. Have a look at the power to weight of this thing, and you will see what i'm on about

but I think you guys could use a new test rider that guy is huge and doesn't know how to hold a wheelie. Or how to turn into an appex.
