Well I watched Gurren Lagann and I have to admit, even with his somewhat brief appearance, Kamina was one of the highlights of the show for me. He was so dumb and careless but you still ended up hanging on his every word. I wish he could have made it to the end of the series.

I'd say Ladd is cooler. Jumping off a speeding train and completely destroying your arm just to save the one person you love is infinitely cooler than bathing in the blood of your victims. Also, Ladd was much less cliched than Claire was.

@swords983 I was thinking that too but then he pointed out that he picked him for his coolness factor and you have to admit, he is cooler than Ladd Russo. I also prefer Claires fighting style to Ladd's, and you have to factor in how their lives turned out in the end. Ladd broke some limb (I forget which) when Claire caused him to fall from the train and because of this he was caught by the police and imprisoned for murdering several passengers while Claire got away with his acts and got the girl

Ladd is incredibly awesome, but he seems more like a giant angry beast than a smooth assassin. It's like comparing a rapier to a mace. Both are effective killing tools but for different reasons.

I wouldnt call Claire a cool character, because he's not. He's a psychotic monster with all but no redeemable qualities. His sense of justice is skewed and by no means relateable. While I agree with alot of your list Gigguk, I think it was a big mistake putting Claire on this list. He's just a cocky bastard with no real need to live beyond fueling his ever expanding ego.

@VengefulKyle Dumb question, seriously. He's skillful, casual in what he does, and honest (if a bit deluded). No fear whatsoever, all of the charisma in the world when he's not soaked in blood, and literally untouchable. Some of the coolest moments in the series come from him, defeating that wrench guy and saving everyone in no time flat, and being the only character on record able to put Ladd in his place. All of that stuff is in the video. I have to admit, he really is awesome.

The only people he actually killed were ladd's goons or the black suits, both of which were filled with psychopaths who were almost as delusional as claire or ladd. the only other person he attacked was czes who was ready to blow an entire car full of innocent bystanders to see which of them was immortal. And if your'e going to pull the mary sue card, half the people on this list fit the bill of a mary sue.

When it comes to tv shows, books, etc, it's better to be amoral and interesting rather than a good person and boring. Both claire and Ladd are prime examples of this.
