This is just fierce. That run that Carlos plays between 0:48-0:52 is sick. You can really hear the Hendrix influence in John's playing between 5:17-5:22 (think Machine Gun). That bend that he hits at around 5:21 might be the most vicious thing I've ever heard…Jesus it sounds like someone screaming after being stabbed.
A beautiful juxtaposition between John McLaughlin and Carlos Santana, I always felt they worked together so well.
I love John McLaughlin, but personally like his stuff with Carlos. Solo Electric John is / was so heavy he scared the evil spirits out of me, lol.
Although I loved it, the two guys really knew how to sculpt this amazing SPIRITUAL ELECTRIC music. We will never hear anything as spiritually awakening and beautiful again I don't think ... John's Acoustic Guitar playing is awesome to...
yeah i luv the ending john compliments carlos perfectly. Too bad they didnt play this when they were both at Crossroads concert. they couldve stole the show.
Carlos Santana and John McLaughlin, what a combination of such emotional guitar players. such a great song, especially live! John fits well with this kind of song, reminds me of Meeting of the Spirits a little bit
John and Carlos: guitar, percussion Armando Perza from Santana, Bass Doug Rauch also from Santana, Billy Cobham drums from Mahavishnu Orchestra, organ Khalid Yasin (Larry Young).
Sorry, mispelling: John and Carlos: guitar, percussion Armando Peraza from Santana, Bass Doug Rauch also from Santana, Billy Cobham drums from Mahavishnu Orchestra, organ Khalid Yasin (Larry Young).

In around 6:00 it gets so intense that I didn't think it could go any higher - deeper, then at 6:26 it does.
