going from sky darts coverage to bbc darts coverage was sooooo boring. the standard that the bdo have is nowhere near what the pdc deliver.

Besides, the grand slam of darts is where both parties slug it out and who reaches the final??? pdc players, not the bdo. The only element missing in the pdc is gary anderson. Need him over to complete the bill so to speak. Taylor has won it twice since its inception with both finalists being pdc boys. proof the pdc is better than the bdo.

When I watched Hankey in the last tournament held he threw quite a few 180's and all three darts were crammed into a tiny piece of the board.

In this they're spaced apart AND he still has room to spare. Now what's that all about? Is the quality of the PDC so shit that they have to resort to using bigger boards? Blimey, talk about cheek!

Snooker is so finished, in the past few years darts has been so much better there was alot of talk in the masters snooker this week, people saying in various news articles claiming that snooker is dead and in my opinion maybe it is when you compare it to darts, this week i heard stephen maguire complaining about the pdc's and bdo's prize money. basically what he was getting at was that snooker is a more skilled game and the £125.000 + £95.000 is far too much for a darts champion.

Can someone please tell me what the tournamnet averages were for both the BDO and PDC. Suely this will give us an overall average of the standard, and fairl compare which is better. Obviously The power is the best by far, but I was slightly shocked to hear the fact about the wires being different. I sthis rally true? If it is, then we are talking about different sports altogether - bit like rugby league/union.

the trebles and doubles are the same on both boards.the pdc had 17 averages over 95 and the bdo only had 5.you just have to look at the line up of players to realise which one is the best.

+100 averages when he played in the BDO. Even at Lakeside he had one of these games. In 1990! This guy is amazing. Nearly 20 years at the top. And when he won a BDO major in Holland (World Darts Trophy 2006) he won vs BDO poster boy in the final 7-2. His average was 102,21. Martin Adams averaged 94,77. Taylor averaged in 5 games - 4times above 100.

Highest average was 106,98. So I say the boards dont make a difference.

The PDC World Championship is undoubtably the better run of the two (albeit the BDO World Championship has the longer and more respected lineage), but that doesn't mean it sees the best play. 2003, 2005 and 2007 were much better for the PDC than the BDO, but 2004 (excluding the finals, since Taylor/Painter easily beat Fordham/King), 2006 and 2008 were undeniably the BDO's years. It's alternated nicely, I feel.

ALL of them were held in the UK, and all of them had no (!) player in the final that could score at least one perfrct game, which is not so difficult.

So the level is quite low and I would prefer to clarify things:

That's why it's held on Sky, because no one else would show it: The BDO is prestigious and something to be respected if you manage to take the title. The PDC is "oooooh money let me go chase it!!!!"

No it's not. There were only two really good matches the entire tournament - Nicholson/Lewis and Barneveld/Baxter. The BDO's tournament has already had three excellent matches, and they've only just completed the first round. As far as i'm concerned, they're both capable of having amazing years.

Without Phil Taylor the PDC has nothing!! The fact that Phil Taylor faced the likes of Co Stompe and Kevin Painter on the way to the final says everything, inferior opposition. Most of the PDC is made up of awful players who have achieved nowt.
