@masterpatric07 Yoga is much older than Christianity. Wake up Christians. Yoga and Hinduism way outdate your religion by 5,000 years or so. There is nothing "New Age" about it. It's a great way to connect with God. Thanks for recognizing that.
@didgedude1 You're an idiot spreading crapaganda. Of all religions Christianity is the best support by leaps and bounds and its consistency is the tightest - that makes it the more credible. In the beginning God created all things which means Christianity came before all religions. Don't know who's been feeding your facts, but they're stupid and you are worse. God bless and pull your head out of your ass.
@theothertroll Are you kidding me? You really think Christianity was the first religion? Is this based on any historical account? If so, please enlighten me!
The truth: Christianity came out of Judaism.
Hinduism is arguably the oldest religion to have existed dating back 5,000 years written language. Unwritten, it could be much older.
But you will argue that the earth is only 4,000 years old even thought there is a ton of scientific evidence to the contrary.
@metubemikehunt2 "hell" is a concept used to scare the ignorant masses into submission. Submission to the religious hierarchies that need good "sheep" to keep them in power. Also, doesn't your god command you not to judge others before judging yourself ??
@metubemikehunt2 i am not a troll, and how, in ANY way, am i being a hypocrite? I think you need to find a dictionary. If i talked of the idiocy of religion whilst practicing it myself, THEN i would be a hypocrite.
This bitch is a moron, as most outwardly religious people. To devote your life to something that has no evidence whatsoever is idiotic. Exploitation of the human weakness, confusion and inability to face the sad truth of reality: death is the end, we are not eternal, and life is meant to be enjoyed while you have it. Life is not meant to be spent devoted to a non-existent being or talking in your head to a being that is only you
Once again, Christians stealing someone else's ideas , skills or talent and then slapping their "brand name" on it. "Christian" yoga, "Christian" rock, "Christian" rap, "Christian" fashion. etc. . .
Okay, folks, if you practice yoga, take a second, right in the middle of it, and ask, "Do I still believe?". If your answer is anything but "yes", please go see someone about that indecisevness. It's probably gonna come back to bite you later.

This is a complete joke! It's so farcical I actually found myself wondering whether the joke was actually on any person who could take this seriously! Yoga is not a strictly Christian pursuit and has no formal roots in Christianity or it's practices.

Precious saints. Exercise is good and necessary to maintain physical health but if you call it by the name 'yoga' it is no longer exercise but worship. When you use the name 'yoga' and Kundalini, you are acknowledging hindu gods and it is an abomination to the one true God, Jesus Christ who died for you. Isn't he enough? Right until i saw this shit, i used to think she was cool. Sooo loved Northern exposure. Now she's just Barking. Howler at the full moon.... So sad. Maybe she should have just fucked the doc after all...
She is teaching improper breathing, asanas, connections between poses, philosophy and what yoga is. Yoga is not this. Yoga is deeper, more mystical and adheres to the teaching that you are not seperate from the source but are one with it. I believe Jesus was a yogi and learned the practice, teaching his followers so there is no problem connecting christianity with yoga. However, one cannot ignore its roots nor its deeper meaning which separates it from typical exercise routines.
Hey Didgedude! Don't you know anything? Yoga was invented by Napoleon in 1745 and was used as a breathing technique to help women deliver babies easier during the French and Indian Wars. I bet you're just a Tofu-eating smelly hippie who only went to community college! I'll say hi to you next time I'm in McDonalds.
I'm a teacher of yoga and have studied it for over 10 years. Ha. I think it's funny, "Yoga was inevnted by Napoleon to help women deliver babies. That's hilarious. Actually, I'm a mechaincal engineer pursuing a master's in renewable energy engineering. I can't stand tofu and i do bathe. However, I love skinny dipping with a bunch of hippies, especially the cute girls. Too bad, you're missing out. Trust me. Om Shanti with Peace my Rainbow Being!!
Are these women actually renaming the poses for a more Christian themed name? It's the same stuff with a Christian spin. Some of the poses it appears they aren't even doing correctly. What training did these women have to be "Christoga" instructors?
This is sad. Has anyone seen the photos on her web page? Not at all modest. She is sending what appears to be a mixed message, however it is in fact very obvious. Her actions are her condemnation (James 2:18-22) - (1 Peter 3:3-4). Look up the origin of yoga online. If you are a Christian and you are unaware of what the enemy is doing here, you should really know to pray against this. Christ ALONE! not Christ plus.................anything.
How come it's always about the enemy? Christians don't want peace nor acceptance of others but refusal to accept the humanity and spirituality of all. Hindus don't worship multiplr gods, they acknowledge the stories of finding god through personalities such as our own. Shiva=destruction of old things, krysna=love, etc. The christian god is molded after men. A man with a white beard sitting on the throne of heaven. I pray that you see the light and stop judging others. Cristoga is silly.
However the word Yoga means union with the higher self, god, and the method of attaining oneness with god. Yoga does not teach separation. It teaches inclusion and is void of particular cultures. It doesn't matter. It is rooted in Hindusim and without mantra (sacred indian chants to god), pranayama (breath control), and dyana (meditation) it is not yoga. It is another exercise routine that resembles this sacred practice.
i can't take this seriously.. its too funny especially when janine appears in full make up reciting scripture breathily like she is selling lingerie. just because she is attaching christ to yoga shouldn't make it more appealing to christians. yoga can stand alone as a way to make your body and mind healthier. it doesn't need all the trappings of god (or sex for that matter). this just seems like a skit on snl.
@mikeycbaby some people have convictions, i think it's kind of funny that you would persecute them for it. Some Christians don't want to practice something that originated from Hindus. It's their lives.
@medic61310 I don't know where you got the idea that I was persecuting anyone for their beliefs. I have always been a fan of Janine's acting and I have good friends, both Christian and Hindu. I myself have practiced Yoga for over twenty years to great health benefits. I just happened to find this video a bit amusing.
True love of God is among many things being modest. There is no such thing as Christoga and this invention is a shame. To do those poses that have nothing to do with Christ religion and in front of crossess ?? Janine , you are a great actress and it is beautfiul that you speak openly about your love for God but this Christoga is totally extreme and gently putting "abnormal".
What's the difference between this and other forms of yoga? I don't see one bit of difference other than it's being labeled as "Christian" and they're reciting a few scriptures with a couple of crosses in the background. I guess it's just another new way to make money off of religion. What a shame.
firstly , the mantras used yoga ,are meant to invoke different sounds which in turn invoke different energies , this read of psalms is fine for church but for yoga lol...this looks plain insane and disrespectful.
I understand they are yoga but why to include Christ in that. Does that mean by doing this, it will increase the spirituality towards christ. Almost every postures has a meaning attached to it and without understanding the meaning there is no growth in spirituality expect getting the physical benefits.
hahaha....funny this is bullshit...Being a hindu i feel these girls are stupid....I would suggest them to go to psychic therapy.. What are you guys doing this? Be a perfect Christians first and though yoga is from hinduism, it can be practiced separately without compromising on your beliefs and faith ...this seems to be like a drama... I would say jesus is very happy staying in heaven than being with this semi-psychotic people.. This is a disgrace to christainity
Thanks for pointing out my grammar mistakes. haha funny...It is not my mother tongue and btw what my english has to do with commenting on christyoga? Anyways I still think what they are doing is stupid and purposeless..
Turner combines prayer, meditation and exercise into an activity that evidently leads her to a place of spiritual peace. For her it is meaningful and healthy. If it does not work for you, fine. But to call what she is doing stupid and purposeless is extremely mean-spirited. Does Hinduism teach you to ridicule others of different beliefs? Humankind already gets enough of that crap from fundamentalist Christians and Muslims without taking on an extra load from other religions.
I'm not ridiculing any religion or belief system. Infact hinduism believes that every religion and belief system that we follow crooked or straight will lead to thee sometime. The approach some of the religious leader(esp islam)take is to the extreme. I can easily say that islam and christianity and many other religions are controlled by some false leaders. I like turner intention of helping fellow christians to make them more spiritual. But tell me who is going to follow christyoga..
I understand what you are saying. Christyoga would not appeal to me either. But evidently it is meaningful for some folks. If it is a path to spiritual wholeness for them, I am all for it. I'd rather see people pursuing spiritual fulfillment in whatever form they desire than following all the other destructive pursuits this world has to offer.
Liberation is not a product to be sold as a DVD. Yoga is a free practice, not a product, Ieschoua Ben David was a free Son of God, not a product, the Gospel is a true liberation message, not to be sold. I do think it is very sad to discover an imposture, because both yoga and The Christ 's message teach to be free first. Freedom is not a product you can buy on stores! God bless you and thanks for sharing...
Read the comments from the Christians on this page. No love, no compassion, no evidence of spiritual peace. I am not a Christian, and looking at you all as an outsider I would say Janine Turner's life reflects the love, serenity, and spiritual balance that I would hope would flow from God if he exists. You Christians who are led to post caustic and derisive comments could learn from her example if your hearts were not so filled with poison.
You are naive. No, we're educating and warning the ignorant. The God of the bible is NOT all love/kissyface/huggybear. The bible believer is to become a "new man" and turn his/her back on past foolishness and darkness. I have nothing against Janine and used to admire her (before she went totally new-agey/hollywood. And how do YOU know she has "spiritual balance" in her life? She seems to be trying to "find" herself, rather, what with the bleached hair, etc.
Oh brother. You say "God if he exists" and in the next breath you have "more faith in God." Which is it, bud? And who asked you, anyway? Sounds like you need to get your thoughts together, stay on topic and read all the comments before you fly off the handle. You could educate YOURSELF by picking up a bible for sure.
Yes, I suspected that would be a mystery beyond your ability to comprehend. And who asked me? You did, friend, when you and your ilk launch acid attacks on obviously good-hearted people like Ms. Turner. Some Christians are wonderful people. But some need to be aware of how ridiculous they make God look when they pretend to speak in his name. And, having written two books on the literary origins of the Gospels in the first century Church, I am reasonably sure I know the Bible as well as you do.
No, I'm reasonably sure you don't "know" what you profess to. I make God look ridiculous? YOU admit you're an unbeliever and brag about writing books on "literary origins" regarding the bible, you phony, you. Take an exhaustive Strong's and check out the countless references for "heart." Read Romans 1:21 about "foolish hearts" being darkened; you and Janine both need to read that whole chapter and take that to "heart," Paul was brilliant here. And you "know" Janine about as well as I do.
Weird. No such animal as "christian" yoga, sorry. The bible believer (as compared to the modern "christian") understands I Timothy 4:8: "Bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." I like Janine but this is just silly. Exercise if you want but don't pretend there is such a thing as "christian" exercise.
i don't understand what the big deal is. if somebody is suffering excruciating pain from a car accident and does breathing exercises to relieve there pain, then why shouldn't they do it ?
Not a big deal, used to do some myself until I understood the source of the practice and knew I shouldn't be fooling with it. I meant my comments strictly for anybody pushing a "christian" aspect to it when there just ain't none.
I think we need to start doing christian, witchcraft next. No - how bout christian prostitution, or even better christian atheism!
This video is a total slap in the face to everything that Jesus taught, what the Bible commands and what the apostles and early church fought for. Jesus is sure and soon to come, this last day apostasy is greater that we can imagine.
Jesus is not coming back. Read the Bible. Almost every book in the New Testament that comments on the coming of Jesus says he will come within the lifetimes of those living at the time. That means either the Bible was wrong, or Jesus returned in some mysterious manner during the 1st century. But no sane reader of the Bible could imagine that Jesus is about to return today. That is bullshit the Church teaches to manipulate gullible believers. Read your Bible and ignore the Church.
2Peter 3:3-7 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.
I know you will have trouble grasping this, but the letter of 2 Peter was widely recognized by late second century Christians as a forgery since it did not appear until the mid second century. Peter did not write it. Only the most gullible of believers quote 2 Peter as authentic scripture. Study your Bible and church history using the brain God gave you! I am sure He did not intend for you to be as uninformed as you appear to be.
This is almost as stupid as listening to Rob Bell. The only thing that makes it better is that these heretics has a cross behind them. Such a provoking symbol you would not se in a Rob Bell video.
But anyway "seeking Gods will" by sitting on the floor in a religious position. That i so stupid i ain't got words for it.
Can't "christians" accept the fact that another culture other than their own developed something (like yoga) that is beneficial to humanity. Some Christians are such bigots.
It isn't that they are staking claim to yoga (I don't think), it's that yoga goes against their religion, so instead of following after their chosen religion truly, they pretty-up the thing they want to do that goes against Christianity so that in its (in this case, yoga's new form) "new" state, they have made something previously unacceptable to Christianity, acceptable... in their opinion.
If Yoga goes against their religion than they shouldn't do it period. And if you mean the do not like Hindu then they should not be practicing the Hindu sacred practices and calling them Christian. It is arrogant and conceited and it is one of the big reasons people are turning off to Christianity. No humility.
This is ridiculous.. everyone knows you can't take satan out of yoga! (snark)

Hey Didgedude! Don't you know anything? Yoga was invented by Napoleon in 1745 and was used as a breathing technique to help women deliver babies easier during the French and Indian Wars. I bet you're just a Tofu-eating smelly hippie who only went to community college! I'll say hi to you next time I'm in McDonalds.
cartifilus 2 years ago

Christ ALONE! not Christ plus.................anything.
paolowogg 2 years ago
How come it's always about the enemy? Christians don't want peace nor acceptance of others but refusal to accept the humanity and spirituality of all. Hindus don't worship multiplr gods, they acknowledge the stories of finding god through personalities such as our own. Shiva=destruction of old things, krysna=love, etc. The christian god is molded after men. A man with a white beard sitting on the throne of heaven. I pray that you see the light and stop judging others. Cristoga is silly.
didgedude1 2 years ago
I think theres nothing wrong with Christoga as long as the mind is focused on the savior nothing can be wrong.
the spirit will lead us.

It is another exercise routine that resembles this sacred practice.
didgedude1 2 years ago
this might be more realistic if she didn't look like she was going to suck dick while reading scriptures.

Yeah this is something similar to what you'd find on TBN with all those people who wear wigs and way too much makeup.
beatlesguy1972 2 years ago 3
i can't take this seriously.. its too funny especially when janine appears in full make up reciting scripture breathily like she is selling lingerie. just because she is attaching christ to yoga shouldn't make it more appealing to christians. yoga can stand alone as a way to make your body and mind healthier. it doesn't need all the trappings of god (or sex for that matter). this just seems like a skit on snl.
mikeycbaby 2 years ago 12
@mikeycbaby some people have convictions, i think it's kind of funny that you would persecute them for it. Some Christians don't want to practice something that originated from Hindus. It's their lives.
medic61310 1 month ago
@medic61310 I don't know where you got the idea that I was persecuting anyone for their beliefs. I have always been a fan of Janine's acting and I have good friends, both Christian and Hindu. I myself have practiced Yoga for over twenty years to great health benefits. I just happened to find this video a bit amusing.
mikeycbaby 3 weeks ago
True love of God is among many things being modest. There is no such thing as Christoga and this invention is a shame. To do those poses that have nothing to do with Christ religion and in front of crossess ?? Janine , you are a great actress and it is beautfiul that you speak openly about your love for God but this Christoga is totally extreme and gently putting "abnormal".

What's the difference between this and other forms of yoga? I don't see one bit of difference other than it's being labeled as "Christian" and they're reciting a few scriptures with a couple of crosses in the background. I guess it's just another new way to make money off of religion. What a shame.

mycroftsays 3 years ago
firstly , the mantras used yoga ,are meant to invoke different sounds which in turn invoke different energies , this read of psalms is fine for church but for yoga lol...this looks plain insane and disrespectful.
gizmobaba 3 years ago
If you want to exercise, fine, but. leave yoga alone. We don't wnat your Christian taint on our discipline.
operdoc 3 years ago 3
this is...kinda dissapointing. I kind of idolized Janine Turner when I was younger. 'Christian Yoga'? CHRISTIAN YOGA? No, really, Christian yoga?
paulcdallas 3 years ago
I understand they are yoga but why to include Christ in that. Does that mean by doing this, it will increase the spirituality towards christ. Almost every postures has a meaning attached to it and without understanding the meaning there is no growth in spirituality expect getting the physical benefits.

BTW what they are doing is called "surya namaskar" in sanskrit. It is praying the sun and also thanking the god for giving this body..
sundg1984 3 years ago 2
hahaha....funny this is bullshit...Being a hindu i feel these girls are stupid....I would suggest them to go to psychic therapy.. What are you guys doing this? Be a perfect Christians first and though yoga is from hinduism, it can be practiced separately without compromising on your beliefs and faith ...this seems to be like a drama... I would say jesus is very happy staying in heaven than being with this semi-psychotic people.. This is a disgrace to christainity
sundg1984 3 years ago 18
Before you go accusing people of being stupid, it might be a good idea to check your own spelling and English grammar.
VideoWiz7 3 years ago
Thanks for pointing out my grammar mistakes. haha funny...It is not my mother tongue and btw what my english has to do with commenting on christyoga? Anyways I still think what they are doing is stupid and purposeless..
sundg1984 3 years ago
Turner combines prayer, meditation and exercise into an activity that evidently leads her to a place of spiritual peace. For her it is meaningful and healthy. If it does not work for you, fine. But to call what she is doing stupid and purposeless is extremely mean-spirited. Does Hinduism teach you to ridicule others of different beliefs? Humankind already gets enough of that crap from fundamentalist Christians and Muslims without taking on an extra load from other religions.
VideoWiz7 3 years ago 2
I'm not ridiculing any religion or belief system. Infact hinduism believes that every religion and belief system that we follow crooked or straight will lead to thee sometime. The approach some of the religious leader(esp islam)take is to the extreme. I can easily say that islam and christianity and many other religions are controlled by some false leaders. I like turner intention of helping fellow christians to make them more spiritual. But tell me who is going to follow christyoga..
sundg1984 3 years ago
I understand what you are saying. Christyoga would not appeal to me either. But evidently it is meaningful for some folks. If it is a path to spiritual wholeness for them, I am all for it. I'd rather see people pursuing spiritual fulfillment in whatever form they desire than following all the other destructive pursuits this world has to offer.
VideoWiz7 3 years ago 2
Liberation is not a product to be sold as a DVD. Yoga is a free practice, not a product, Ieschoua Ben David was a free Son of God, not a product, the Gospel is a true liberation message, not to be sold. I do think it is very sad to discover an imposture, because both yoga and The Christ 's message teach to be free first. Freedom is not a product you can buy on stores! God bless you and thanks for sharing...
eon1968 3 years ago 3
Read the comments from the Christians on this page. No love, no compassion, no evidence of spiritual peace. I am not a Christian, and looking at you all as an outsider I would say Janine Turner's life reflects the love, serenity, and spiritual balance that I would hope would flow from God if he exists. You Christians who are led to post caustic and derisive comments could learn from her example if your hearts were not so filled with poison.
VideoWiz7 3 years ago
You are naive. No, we're educating and warning the ignorant. The God of the bible is NOT all love/kissyface/huggybear. The bible believer is to become a "new man" and turn his/her back on past foolishness and darkness. I have nothing against Janine and used to admire her (before she went totally new-agey/hollywood. And how do YOU know she has "spiritual balance" in her life? She seems to be trying to "find" herself, rather, what with the bleached hair, etc.
murphyclm 3 years ago
I am supposed to believe that God chose a condescending believer such as yourself to educate me? Not a chance. I've got more faith in God than that.
VideoWiz7 3 years ago
Oh brother. You say "God if he exists" and in the next breath you have "more faith in God." Which is it, bud? And who asked you, anyway? Sounds like you need to get your thoughts together, stay on topic and read all the comments before you fly off the handle. You could educate YOURSELF by picking up a bible for sure.
murphyclm 3 years ago
Yes, I suspected that would be a mystery beyond your ability to comprehend. And who asked me? You did, friend, when you and your ilk launch acid attacks on obviously good-hearted people like Ms. Turner. Some Christians are wonderful people. But some need to be aware of how ridiculous they make God look when they pretend to speak in his name. And, having written two books on the literary origins of the Gospels in the first century Church, I am reasonably sure I know the Bible as well as you do.
VideoWiz7 3 years ago
No, I'm reasonably sure you don't "know" what you profess to. I make God look ridiculous? YOU admit you're an unbeliever and brag about writing books on "literary origins" regarding the bible, you phony, you. Take an exhaustive Strong's and check out the countless references for "heart." Read Romans 1:21 about "foolish hearts" being darkened; you and Janine both need to read that whole chapter and take that to "heart," Paul was brilliant here. And you "know" Janine about as well as I do.

Please refer to my original post at the top of this string.

Exercise if you want but don't pretend there is such a thing as "christian" exercise.

i don't understand what the big deal is. if somebody is suffering excruciating pain from a car accident and does breathing exercises to relieve there pain, then why shouldn't they do it ?
alfamale05 3 years ago
Not a big deal, used to do some myself until I understood the source of the practice and knew I shouldn't be fooling with it. I meant my comments strictly for anybody pushing a "christian" aspect to it when there just ain't none.

I think we need to start doing christian, witchcraft next. No - how bout christian prostitution, or even better christian atheism!
This video is a total slap in the face to everything that Jesus taught, what the Bible commands and what the apostles and early church fought for. Jesus is sure and soon to come, this last day apostasy is greater that we can imagine.

VideoWiz7 3 years ago
2Peter 3:3-7 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.
destinycreature 3 years ago

Some Christians are such bigots.
tonyjay 4 years ago 5
It isn't that they are staking claim to yoga (I don't think), it's that yoga goes against their religion, so instead of following after their chosen religion truly, they pretty-up the thing they want to do that goes against Christianity so that in its (in this case, yoga's new form) "new" state, they have made something previously unacceptable to Christianity, acceptable... in their opinion.
PrincessPetunia 4 years ago 3
If Yoga goes against their religion than they shouldn't do it period. And if you mean the do not like Hindu then they should not be practicing the Hindu sacred practices and calling them Christian. It is arrogant and conceited and it is one of the big reasons people are turning off to Christianity. No humility.
Pennee101 3 years ago
I am a Christian, and this is all very confusing! If we're not supposed to do it, then we shouldn't, period. It's time to ask my pastor for sure!
