  • WTF air at 2:19?

  • Why are the bikes so slow?

  • Memorized this course on forza 3

  • lol 2:52 search the error ^^

  • Wait until you see my video Joey! Not as good as you but there a lot of accident and I was just reconning. I'll post the video Tomorow under the Mazda3racer, but I actually own a mazdaspeed 3 GT 2008. I will be actually racing this weekend, if you happen to be around lemme know.

  • Looks like so much fun :D

    Mazda 3 FTW

  • lol @ 4:37 "Oh you cocks!" I feel the same way. Damn bikers and their slow as turning. Hogging up the road. Wish there was a road like that around here to take my Mazdaspeed 6 out on.

  • @SeigiSama Ha! I didn't even notice that.

  • awesome lines dude, you did great honor to an awesome car :)

  • Concerning previous comment about biker falling down, he will straight into grass whereas the car will continue to turn around curve. Also, car can stop quicker than a man sliding on his ass...lol.

  • Amazing watch!

  • heart in the mouth for me just watching! ha. I wish i could get my ms3 on a track like that.

  • Hahaha was will denn die Nudel da aufm Platz??? 2:17

  • 7:54 black car :(

  • @espjuan ha i know. i think it was another ms3, but with a less skilled driver....

  • Oh crap.....cars and bikes together??

Why waste time in a ring, just kill yourself at start.....

  • If one of the biker fall down in a curve, you will kill him.

Great consequence for a good time on video.

This is why i will never go on the Nurburgring with my bike.

  • I agree the ring is dangerous but everybody involved knows (or should know) the risks and make their own decisions as adults.

  • @joeytwomugs I agree, it's track day, not catholic-dance-day

  • @clhei bike's shouldnt be allowed.

  • Maestro

  • MS3(mps) is the best car in the class and best bang for the $!!!

  • only ..... WOW !!!!

  • I've now added a high quality version of this video as youtube 4:3'ed this one and as the upload limit is now 1GB ionstead of a piddly 100mb.

copy the link taking out the spaces...

    ht tp : / /ww w. yo utube . com / watch?v=b6 6AxwyUKGU

  • Cool Driving and cool Car...But i think 6 mps will faster on Nurburgring then 3 mps...

  • This car is so fucking sexy, both inside and out.

  • psssssh i want one, no amount of torque steer can put me off now. Test drove one a while back but it was a waste of time, might have well driven the 1.6 due to mazda rep being a right f*cking whopper and telling me to calm down at about 4000 rpm!!!, felt tight, lean and eager though. Love to drive one at full tilt like that!

Anyone experienced at the ring how many seconds off if he didn't have to follow those cretinous bikers through the bends? faster than a stock focus ST, Astra VXR, R32?

  • The Focus ST and the Vauxhall have both been around the ring faster whilst claiming they were standard. However I happen to 100% KNOW that this is not true. They both had cut slick tyres on them, they both had the camber adjusted and they both ran on 105 fuel. Not technically cheating as you could ask your dealer for your car to come with these mods and pay extra for it. The Mazda shown here is as you would get it out of the showroom, no funny stuff at all. Stock tyres, suspension and 98 fuel.

  • Oh mate i'm getting one, i bet the focus and the vxr didn't have to slow that much though! 10 a penny cars anyway. You just don't see as many 3's on the road as those cars, and for no good reason.

  • @incrediblebulk316 I drove one today man im looking at an rx8 but took this one for a spin and the guy that went with me had a small history of racing so i got it up to its rev limit multiple times and took some hard turns on their small little test track and it was truely great get one man get one if he cant find a manuel rx8 in my price range then im going to try to get a manuel one of these for a small little 2.3 hatch its great!

  • would a person be able to just rent a car and take it for a few laps on the Nurburgring if they wanted? maybe race around all day to pass the time?

  • yes. it is a public road and you can drive rentals on it.

In fact a presenter I work with rented a porche, had it fitted with roll cage et al and entered a race. The roll cage was then removed and the car returned to the rental desk!!!

  • @joeytwomugs ur a fukin lad - many man points for that haha

  • From what I've heard, there are 'special' rentals designed for the Nurburgring. You can't take a car from Enterprise for example. I've heard they'll fine you.

  • OMFG !! great drive:D

  • Just had the heads up that I might get to do another one of these Nurburgring videos soon. This time with a powerful saloon car.

    Keep watching this space...

  • Nice! I don't know why but I would freak out racing next to motorcycles... Impressive driving skills! I want to take my mps to the track too. Thanks for the awesome video.

  • Youre right there Dupo.

  • what do you mean whit public day!!

    is that a highway?

  • I think he means that the track is open for public, of course you still need to pay :-D

  • It used to be a race track but is now a public road with no speed limit. You pay to go on but there are busses and taxis too etc. Very Cool.

  • The Nuremburg?? Really!?!?!

  • Not the Nuremburg, the Nurburgring. Nuremburg is famous for rallies. Sadly it was the type of rally that involves Nazis and genocide as opposed to the ones that involve driving 4wd saloons on a variety of surfaces against the clock. Not as much fun but it did pull a crowd.

  • Mazda 3s just flat out haul ass! Take that mustang owners of america!

  • Haha you got that right the mazda is superior to the mustang in every way, mustangs are better however for picking up chicks because they dont know shit about cars

  • have an mps i love it to bits headin the ring in a few months sweet piece of drving son

  • awesome!!!!!

  • mazda performance series

  • Your a good driver im really impressed!

  • not me, mark ticehurst

  • Well whoever it was thats an impressive peice of driving!

  • the car is fast and good driver.

  • gr8t driving skills

  • too close to the bike

  • Pffft...you're dangerous dude...don't be there when ill be at the ring.

  • Awesome driver, knows that car and track very well. Came damn close to those bikes though :p

  • Good car, and good time too. But the lap hasn't been finished (it started just before the Bilstein pane)...

  • the record for the class is taken in the same way (bridge to gantry!)

  • Yep, Mark Ticehurst. Look out for him on the circuits, he is a wicked driver.

  • Bet it would have been better if those damn crotch rockets weren't in front of him the whole time.

  • we did one lap with the circuit closed for us. unfortunately even with more rubber on the track and cooler air (later in the day) without any drafting from other vehicles it took a second or two more!

  • a fantastic driver!!! excellent!!

  • shit, that was a 9.20~ lap? we're off to the ring in 5 weeks. We've set ourselves a target of sub 9 minutes (3 race/track cars)..think we're a bit optimistic. lol

  • 9.20? it was a shade over 8.30! don't forget there is 50 seconds of preamble in the video. If the driver would have farted he would have set a lap record for the class.

  • nice man~~what a contrast to those stupid drivers in other vids

  • what can I say, the man's a driving deity.

  • lol look at the bikes disappear on the straights. Nevertheless, good driver and good car. I respect Mazda 3 MPS.

  • Nice, but I would prefer the original, a Golf GTI, for that money. ;) Greetings

  • @rejuco a Golf GTI is slower then the 3 MPS and on track the MPS kills the GTI instantly... are you sure about the GTI ;-)

  • but this mazda is Mazda 3 = Front wheel drive car....stock 250 hp :) not RWD :)

  • I messed it up. FWD i meant, but RWD came out. FWDs are understeering, you should have got it from the rest of the text.

  • FYI Mazda 3 MPS is front wheel drive. The Mazda 6 MPS is all wheel drive.

  • i wonder if my 1.4 mazda 3 could do that???

    nice driving bud.

  • what do you think

  • sure, but not in that time ;)

  • Wow, great driving! Only went "EEEK!" once when overtaking the one bike (didn't seem like the next corner was going to come so quickly). Breaking and cornering better than those bikes is no small feat, especially since the "lead" bike was a "knee-dragger." Again, great job.

  • Amazing little car with just right balance of Zoom-Zoom.

  • joey, the driving doesnt upset me its the lack of respect for other ring users, the bikes left the mazda for dead on the straights, so why the need to tailgate em on the bends?,a good driver should back off n accept its not a clear track

  • he's a race driver

  • Hats off to whoever drove that lap. Brilliant driving.

  • Mark Ticehurst and credit to him he is a great driver.

  • hey, I don't think you're legally allowed to film any driving footage from the ring. Not that I'm moaning, just to warn you for maybe next time as you may be banned. Great lap :)

  • Cheers for the heads up, but we got permission. They even closed the circuit for us for a bit.

  • i agree with r7***, you're gonna kill a biker driving like that 'heart in mouth'..ass in prison more like. jus accept bikes can't go around corners as quick on a bumpy track.

  • No-one has denied that bikes can't corner as fast even on perfectly smooth tracks.

    I was not the driver.

The driver is a pro who has never killed anyone doing what he does.

The ring is used by people who want to go around it quickly, the bikers and the drivers know that there are risks involved and accept those risks when they enter the circuit.

If you want to cry about a car overtaking a bike then you shouldn't be watching video's of people driving around this circuit on a public day.

  • wild child =) mazda best !

  • good driver and good engine !

  • your not gonna make many biker mates carrying out passes like the one at pflanzgarten 2. that shits liable to get you a smack in the teeth .go to bridge to gantry to see some proper bike laps . at the moment ,the fastest vehicles round the ring on public days are bikes as you will see when you check btg you are over a minute off the pace ! great lap in that car though.

  • no-one complained to any of us!

  • Nice vid. The whole bike vs car thing tho is utter crap. The Nordschleife is all about course knowledge. It is far easier to drive closer to the limits of a car than ride to the limits of a bike. Anyone with a grasp of basic physics must surely understand that...

  • +1 screw up in a car and you just roll into the gravel pit. Screw up on a bike and you end up sliding across the gravel pit and one less bike.

    I ride both..so I know.

  • Many people have said that it is about course knowledge. I would agree with that too, 12 odd miles of track means you'd assume that its about the knowledge. However the driver (Mark Ticehurst) had never seen the track before the day he drove it for Mazda. You can't knock the car or the driver with what they acheived.

  • he had driven it on the playstation though!

  • Own a Mazdaspeed 6 and a SV1000S (bike)been to the track a few times with each...get a few guys with just a little training on bikes and the Speed 6 or 3 is no match. These guys aren't even getting out of their seat on the bikes. Makes me question if they even have D208's. Credit to this driver for making that car fly enough to keep pace. WOW...

  • Hi Joey, I've uploaded my video of this day as well click under my name and look for "Nurburgring April 2007" video. Ive got few 'Ring videos uploaded now.

  • VERY nice. I'm impressed that you seem to be holding onto the camera quite steadily even though it is clearly handheld. No easy task.

  • wow...he's flying.

    freakin Flying.

  • It is a proffessoinal race driver (well semi pro at least ;-) ) doing a promotional thing for mazda themselves. One of the drivers, Mark Ticehurst is driving in this video I think. Yeah if you stuck old Rossi on one of those bikes Mark may have had a problem keeping up, however they're obviously just "billies" on a day out and I can't help but wonder how muc faster it would have been without the hold ups.

  • well we also got the ring closed for a single lap, so you could watch how fast it is (full lap not bridge to gantry) by looking at the closed track version in my videos!

  • Did any of these MPS have the aero package? Which ones?

  • New material coming soon. More Nurburg, more hot hatch, new shots, and more intense.

  • Bwahh! That was great! Made those tires sing. A few tense moments, but that was some great driving. Wish we could see the steering wheel.

  • I'll try to get you that one for the next video...

    Keep watching this space!

  • Subscribed! When I'm at the track I use a camera mount that I made that connects with the headrest posts on the drivers seat. Doesn't work as well on the MS3 (MPS) as on my previous cars (yet) because of the shape of the seats, but it still gives a nice viewing position. Combined with a wider-angle lens, it works well.

  • Like the kind of thing you can get from b hague in nottingham. Good peice of kit but I would recommend a vertical extending mount to press against the top and bottom of the cab area so that you'd get less movement. Having said that the cameras used here were simply attached to the glass with single or double sucker mounts.

  • You would have been quicker if it had not been for the bloody bikers, getting in the way again!

  • I know, they sit on an engine and can't quite keep pace!

  • Good movie

  • you want rwd, none of this fwd. ie, sierra cosworth, merc 190E cosworth, toyota MR2 turbo. fwd just isn't the comparable. oversteer is far better than understeer!!!!

  • very true that rwd is more fun to play with around corners but j-turns etc are better in fwd. You want a 4wd for racing though so that you can grip from the start and round corners (surface depending as rwd is quicker that 4wd but less grippy)

  • IV GOT THE MAZDA3 SP23 non turbo how far do u thing i am from the mps turbo?

  • SP23 = 75 kw less & 177nm less, huge power and torque difference!

    SP23 = 8.7sec 0-100, 16.3sec 0-400m (motor magazine)

    3MPS = 6.2sec 0-100, 14.3sec 0-400m (motor magazine)

And all that for $10k (AUS) more! Very far from the MPS my friend.

  • yeah my only problem is torque im really disapointed with that. do u think the astra turbo any better than the mps ? coz im thinking to make a switch

  • Astra turbo is no match for the MPS. Even the VXR Astra turbo costs $3000 more and is 177kw & 320nm but is 10kg lighter however. I would grab a GTI Golf as the chassis, handling and steering response and interior is class leading, slower in straight line but oomph aint everything.

  • hey do u know anything about the golf r32 ?

  • very expensive, excellent vehicle but no soul.

when you drive it everything is clinical.

excellent performance but you dont feel as if you are driving

  • quite far! normally aspirated engines have a hard time keeping pace with turbo or supercharges counterparts of a similar type

  • Hey...theortical a car should be able to corner better at higher speeds than a bike, but I've never ridden a bike so, am I correct cause it seems like the guy was catchin on the corners provin my asumptions

  • a decent set up car can easily out corner a bike. four contact patches of decent size vs. two contact patches the size of a quarter.

  • Hmm... While what I said is true, those riders don't look too skilled... maybe intermediate riders.

  • ya that's what i figured and I couldn't really tell bout the bike riders, cause I paying more attention to the cars and the driver

  • Wow that was good to watch. Enjoyed it all the way! Mazda all the way.

  • Mazda 3 is very good car :)

  • less music pls

  • this guy is fucking intence,,,ballin,,lol i like how he is keeping up and passing all these ninja bikes

  • We just got our 3mps in true red wit the aero kit nd it luks awesum. vry1 turns there headz when one goes past nd we left a golf gti for dead the ova nite. it totally awsum 4 the price. it can kick jags, bmw, audi nd they r like double the price

  • Awesome video! Kudos on your car handling.

    I want one :)

  • The bikers look more pwned than professional. Cool car!

  • The Bikers look professional too....

  • No, they don't.

  • Nice one!!!

  • Iceman954rr Its not the "race" against the motorcycles that is interesting, inte the time on the ringt with a totally standard factorycar. DUH!

  • Obviously a professional driver...and not professional riders.

Put some of the top moto riders in the business in that vid and they would make that little mazda look silly.

    Nice bias video though.

  • Bikes are only good on straights and cack on corners, not bad for an £18k car!

  • Yes, and if you put a fighter jet against a motorbike the little bike would look silly.

The riders are unknown and the driver was a professional however as a completely standard hot hatch I think what you see it doing here (and again yes, it is in capable hands) is bloody impressive!

  • "Obviously a professional driver"??

Dude, you got a crystal ball or something?!

But they bike riders weren't, were they? So what's your totally useless point?

Bog standard Mazda 3 totally PWNS them.. End of story.

  • une masda 3 mps devant des motos O_o"

  • Im buying one of these now....wow wow wow !!!
