I've always wondered if you could baseball swing Phantom's fireballs back at him. After all, you had to do it in order to solve a puzzle toward the end of the game, and you could even do it to Mundas when he starts shooting fireballs at you. So, why not with Phantom too? I could never get the timing right though. Camera angle was also kinda funny too.

You play in easy auto or normal? (Only if you die 3 time before finish the first 3 mission you can play in easy auto) I pass this game in all the difficulties. When Phantom attack you with the "underground lave" the way more effective to dodge this attack is walk, no run, just walk. Other think, if you looking close Phantom eyes, they change to red or blue, this help to predicted the Phantom attacks (Phantom have 2 weak point, the mouth and the upper back ).

@Paskakiisseli in mission two, in the library (the place whre you got the rusty key), on the sceond floor, there is a table. destroy the table and examine the shining object you see, that object is the shotgun and you will obtain it.

@DiSneyHeArTzZ Get blue orbs, your health goes up. But you start out with what seems like a lot, but isn't. Devil trigger with L1. Dante is the son of a Legendary Dark Knight named Sparda, who was as powerful as a god. Dante also has that power. So even if it's bigger than him, he's usually the more powerful one in the fight.

@Rilyn666 The first Dante was by far the best. DMC2 was a tragedy in character development and made Dante look more like a Dolce and Gabbana model, and the end boss was the brother of Freddie Mercury. DMC3 Dante was almost too full of Cheese. His attitude in the first game was spot on

take my tip when hes about spit out one of hes lava balls at you jump in to the air and when it comes into your direction press the circle button and then it will shoot back at him and half of he's health meter will be gone down

You can stay away from him and shoot until you build up your devil trigger. After that, transform then rush him(the air raid does great damage on him). Also, remember how to dodge his attacks.
