What sums up Vista being good or not is what your computer system consists of. If it has more then 4 GB of RAM with Direct X 10 Vista 64 bit is your best choice. If you got Less then 3 GB of RAM with a Direct X 9 Card Then Windows XP is the better choice. Now the fact is Microsoft is #1 and Windows is just taking all the bullets for Apple. If Apple was #1 well you would see a ton more virus and hackers that will target Apple computers. So all you Apple fans should be very happy Windows exists.

This is by far the worst analyst of Microsofts contributions to the tech industries. You take about lots productivity, and it would be better if there was more competition in the OS market. I sadly don't get all the bad hype about Microsoft...I've built 3 very high end computers, all with Vista Ultimate running, and haven't gotten a single BSOD or shutdown error. The only people that spend time rebooting their computers due to crashes are the ones usually causing the problems. He could run OSX, Linux, Solaris or others, but he chose to run windows. If I installed every piece of crap software on all the aforementioned systems, they would crash too. Windows is not perfect, but my XP systems have great uptime and I have minimal issues with the OS. I am not fan of Vista, I like Mac and Linux, they all have their place and are capable.

The amount of progress made with bugs far surpasses the progress we would have made had computer technology progressed as a cautious but perfect rate. Bugs themselves have forced progress to be made in bug-negotiation alone. And you cannot blame a company for having annoying bugs when the alternative would be not having that tech in the first place.

Any joe shmoe in his basement could invent the next best computer that would demand complete conversion from one OS to another, and all its hardware. Developers wont be inventing the latest program, theyd be making the latest OS or figuring out how to make the old one work with new ideas.

Linux, while much more stable, is fucking impossible to use for a normal person. I'm good with computers, and I've broken linux by 1) installing a font, 2) updating my package manager, 3) doing a routine windows manager update. What's really annoying is that the idiot that made that video probably used Vista and all Microsoft products to make the above, unable to use Linux, Mac or anything else and repeating what he heard from others in the street. Setting a standard is a good thing. For example, I learned word processing on WordPerfect, from a Utah company where I am from. To me, That's like asking, "why doesn't everyone make a gaming console? If every company made their own, it would really stimulate creativity." True...but economics has decided the outcome of that one already,third party software (iE games) would be pretty hard to come by.there's got to be a common ground where *most* of us meet. that just happens to be windows.
