  • on the 2nd of January my account will be PERMANENTLY gone forever... and i can't wait it:)

  • simple solution, if you dont want it on facebook, dont PUT it on facebook

  • Facebook has become a paradise for narcissists. I just don't get it - why spend ur time on a media like facebook to pretend that you are something that you aren't?? i mean, who the hell have 500+ friends anyways?!! I deleted my profil after 5 years, and i absolutely dont miss it at all!!! WHy not?? - there are many reasons, but one if them is that i dont need to know about ur dog having an affair with ur neighbours cat - and if i did, id rather see it IRL than read about it on Lamebook!!

  • Too many drama queens on facebook, not worth bringing me down!

  • Goddamn accent.

  • i will not delete my RIGHT to access a page i've used. to delete the page, a person has no more access to it. deactivating is a really cool feature because the user still retains the right to access the page again if they change their mind. for people who've had their page for YEARS ... i think they should really THINK about what they're doing, instead of going on impulse because it's "new" and a lot of people decide to do it, so they go along with it. nope, i will not be deleting my page.

  • when i see/hear french ppl talk, i feel dirty for some reason..ugh!!

  • I deleted my facebook because youre on it

  • I used sweetas.com like most people are starting too

  • yuh a fool dum ass

  • Facebook is a piece of shit stapled by fucking vomit.

  • this guy is a gay bald freak.

  • Everything you post and email is public? Well, I PGP my emails so that's not a problem. I don't post anything that interesting anyway. I did seriously consider deleting my facebook account a while back, for similar reasons to iAmCodeMonkey. It just made me feel depressed to log on and see other people partying when I'm sitting at home. Also, the majority of my "friends" are people who I don't see anymore as I am now in uni. I only talk to 3 or 4 people on FB and I have about 400 friends.

  • Facebook is a glorified spying tool. Whether it be stalker friends, family, employers or corporate marketing teams.

  • Messing around with your electronics account is a trend now? Not even philosophical school of thought, not cloth, not car? Fucking facebook? Damn, this world is going down the shit hole. I hope you'll enjoy the shit and maggots.

  • I think a facebook fan page might be good for someone that has a business and should not be deleted but a personal profile was useless to me. The level unnecessary drama and noise can get to you. Plus, I don't trust Mark Fuckaberg. My research on him clearly shows that he's an unethical, lowlife piece of shit. That's just my opinion.

  • ARE YOU A FACEBOOK PLANT ?

For you to talk like this, you are really Retarded or a Sellout to your fellow citizen - Get Real Dude. Facebook is Over and we need a new social network now !

  • Who is this jackass?

  • True that FB can 'ruin' privacy, but when it comes to that; it can actually invade you privacy as much as you let it to. You choose who you add as a friend, what you write on it and how much info about you you're willing to share. So it's kind of ridiculous when people go on how it's a privacy crasher.

However yes, I also thought of deleting it myself. 'Cause most if not all of the folks my age go on FB just to rant, argue and start fights. But that's their problem, FB was not made for that.

  • Facebook can be replaced with a cellphone and text messages, if you really want to say it, its worth the price of a godamn text.

  • I bet you got a huge cock!

  • I deactivated my FB account. Boring, intrusive, useless and risky I'd say. Who needs it.

  • You can just deactivate it. I deactivated mine but it is still there if I want it again.

  • no one in facebook cares about what i post, i question why i care anyway

  • no. It has not been a good idea to post private things on FB for a long time. Unless someone comes up with something that FB does without the privacy issues issues - but these things need to be paid for so its FB or a subscription service. Just be responsible.

  • I was on the verge of deleting my FB account...until I saw this video. Thank you!

  • I deleted my account last night, due to the reason that every time I logged on all I saw was how my friends were out partying, were in a relationship, or just posting e-drama, so I got less and less motivated to talk to them. It was becoming everything I hated about Myspace, so to speak.

I don't regret it at all, in fact.

  • @iAmCodeMonkey really? wow

  • Comment removed

  • @iAmCodeMonkey it is all the same thing dumbass

  • @ronnyboy1988 Nice language! Do you talk to your mother with that mouth? Oh, and by the way, LinkedIn is more for professionals than FB or myspace.

  • @iAmCodeMonkey I did not even know what you were talking about, so I went back and looked at my comment. UMMM I suck, I dont know what my problem was but I was being the dumbass.

And I don't talk to my mom with that mouth, sometimes I want to but I holdback :)

  • @ronnyboy1988 i was talking about LinkedIn... lol I removed my comment over fears that I made you call me a dumbass XD... :)

  • @iAmCodeMonkey reguardless I am the dumbass for calling a perfect stranger a dumbass over the internet.

    Take care

    ron

  • @iAmCodeMonkey Perhaps it is the quality of your friends and not the application ;)

  • @iAmCodeMonkey same reason i deleted mine

  • @iAmCodeMonkey I never had a facebook page, I seen my gf's and thought to myself "why the fuck would I care if you are eating a god damn sandwich right now?" It is nothing but one way conversations.

Then I heard my coworkers around me talking about their facebook and to add each other. Then I decided to grab a thin stack of papers from the printers, roll it up into a cone and speak into it as mic when ever I started to do something different such as "working", "at lunch", "bullshitting with".

  • @iAmCodeMonkey do you still feel the same because i want to do it?

  • @SuperHeroMan411 Feel the same about what?

  • @iAmCodeMonkey have you remade your facebook account?

  • @SuperHeroMan411 Um, nope! XD

  • @iAmCodeMonkey I did the same.

  • @iAmCodeMonkey

Thumbs up! i just deleted mine today, and i must say, that deleting my facebook account was one if the most liberal things i have ever done....what a release!!! Goodbye facebook - Hello life!!! :-)

  • @iAmCodeMonkey I just deleted my facebook. No body talks to me anyway. Everybody was getting married and shit so "Forget them." They are not going to miss me anyway.

  • I think everybody will just get used to the new public way Facebook works and we will all have forgotten about this soon

  • Nice, I hate facebook. I knew all along they would hold your content hostage.

Who wouldn't? Facebook, twitter, and all other "social networking" sites will post all your content online, which Google indexes, and sends them traffic their way... That traffic will contribute to sales, more users, and more hits.

Facebook and twitter make money off YOUR content... So why not build your own website?

  • My issue isn't so much that Google can index information I make public. I didn't even mind opting in for having my Youtube account automatically post my favorites and uploads to my wall. What pushed me over the edge and prompted me to delete my facebook account the default of sharing my activity on partner sides, like Pandora, without my explicit opt-in.

  • If you use common sense on Facebook, privacy shouldn't be an issue. Even if left completely public, you'd be surprised at how many people don't care about your data.

  • I use Facebook like a glorified addressbook of friends & family but hardly for anything else. Its slowly turning into everything I hated about Myspace.

  • I just am not joining it. Don't trust their privacy.

  • I won't delete my Facebook account ... for now.

But: 99% of Facebook users don't want to publish information to the world, they just want to share information with their "friends" and that's all.

As a public figure, I understand that you're looking for more public visibility.

Do you have a private Facebook account (family photos...)?

If yes, don't tell me you are OK to share all that private information with the world.

If no, how are you sharing private information with your real life friends?

  • I would delete my Twitter account, but not Facebook.

  • No I would not at this time.
