I think by the time I cut the remaining straight ends I had maybe 3 1/2 inches. I transitioned for 7 months. I got my last perm May 11, 2008 but then I put a color in my hair in August and I think that it really relaxed my new growth because I could not see any new growth past the gray new growth. And I know that my hair had grown some in 3 months. Also I have no idea what my hair type is.

It was just as the song stated " A healing for my soul". If there was anything that I would do over it would be that I would have done the BC sooner. Although I have not mastered my hair.... I promise it is so refreshing to not be a burdened with the feeling of having to get a perm inorder to make my hair manageable. I have actually been thinking about doing another BC just to experience a TWA but I think I am almost over that desire. Let me know how the BC goes. Happy Nappy
People thought that I would have cried but I had been wanting it done for 3 mths before I finally decided that I was going to do it myself and then my niece decided that she would do it but made sure that she told me that she was not responsible for what happened to my head. LOL

Thanks. Because my hair was not done professionally and after several different trims my hair was 4 1/2 inches in the front 3 1/2 on the sides and 31/4 in the back the top was so long because we were really scared to cut it too short since the curl pattern was soo much looser than the rest. Since doing the bc I have been absolutely loving my hair. just b prepared because it may take a little time for you and everyone else to get comfortable with it. Right now i am cutting as i go.... right now i am wearing protective styles... havent really tackled it yet... ive pressed it a few times but i am going to start learing my hair in april (my bday month) LOL New age... new hair... LOL :0)

Thank You and this is the shortest my hair has ever been but I was sooo ready to have this done. It had been postponed for about 3 mths so I had a lot more new growth that I had planned to have I wanted to start with a TWA so that i could get to know my hair as I went. But I went from slightly longer than BSL to this and I get death threats every time i cut it. LMAO. It is soo funny to see others reactions. When do u plan to do the BC or are u just cutting as u go.
