Leslie, Felix & the boys could be so tuneful, melodic & balanced, as well as fucking tight, hard & "balls out" rocking. From almost Bach to thunderous 12 bar & all points between... often in the same song! Why isn't Mr West acknowledged as one of the all time guitar greats?
I LOVE Ozzy Osbourne's story about how the first time he ever snorted coke was in 1969 with Leslie West when Black Sabbath opened for Mountain on their first American tour.
I remember when i was 15 back in 1984 and seen an article on these guys in hit parader. i went and had to order the cassette tape but it was worth every penny still one of my favorite bands to this day. these guys never got the props they deserved
One of the greatest, to be sure. Saw Mountain at the Goose Lake festival, around 1970. it was like Woodstock only without the rain and mud.
