  • i dont get why people film these things in dark rooms, i kinda wanted to see your flight controls...

  • Strong Bezels...

  • @softt23 This was my old setup. In 2008, there really weren't that much thin bezel monitors unlike today's LED monitors.

  • I once forgot to turn autothrottle off for landing so my reversers didn't engage and almost overshot the runway :D

  • how do you get full-screen mode, I have three and try and let all in all oaths me it is not

  • ...Put your gear up!

  • This should be great with Pacman.

  • You just need TrackIR now!!

    :)

  • Just use SoftTH. You can use a good card and one cheap card.(say $20 range) Or you could do what I did.

  • You can use SoftTH and run 3 monitors with one good vid card and another cheap card say $20 range. Or you could do what I did. lolz.

  • I'm looking to get 3 monitors for my system.

Do you know if I could get a DUALhead2go and split one of my connections off into two, then have 3 monitors?

Do the monitors have to be the same size? I was rather hoping to leave one 24inch widescreen in the middle, and have one 22inch 3:4 ratio either side. Is this possible?

I'm just looking to use it for desktop apps, not games etc really. I thought you flight sim guys are the experts in this field :P

Any help would be fantastic! Nice setup!!

  • If you don't have a dualhead2go or triplehead2go right now, don't bother buying one. The new ATI 5800 series video cards can handle 4 monitors with just one GPU (if supported by monitor). FSX doesn't care how many monitors and what sizes they are, it will just work either way.

  • Yeah, weirdly my mate randomly brought that up tonight. Thing is, I dont have £300 to blow at the mo, plus only just got my 4870x2, going back to the original question, would that work do you think? dualhead2go splitting just one of the ports, to give a total of 3?

    Thanks for replying! :)

  • Well it will still work. But the 2 monitors connected to the dualhead2go will be treated as one while the third monitor connected to your second dvi will be treated as a second monitor. Notice on my video, the 3 monitors work as if it's one monitor while my 4th monitor is working as my second.

  • I'm speechless!!

  • cool set up..but.... how did you get 4x monitors? i ve a triplehead2go (mouthfull) only 3 screens! how did you get the 4th one to work...? i dont work on computers just like the problems they bring.. i only work on aircraft! (your computer is smooth whats the set-up?

  • A video card has two outputs. The first output is connected to the Triplehead2go, the second output is connected to the 4th monitor. My PC specs at this time I made the video was Core2duo E6600 and Nvidia 8800 gts.

  • Yes I know that. I never use it on all my games. I would rather have a crooked alignment than have a reduced screen size.

  • One 'word' woah!

Nice rig, must of took alot of time and money, glad it's paid off for you!

    -Steve

  • Thanks. Yeah it really did took quite a lot of time and money. One thing though, I did not buy all my parts at once coz I'm not that rich. lol

  • Yeah, soon I'll be saving for my own rig, I'm only 15 just now so in six months I'll get a job and start building my dream machine.

And once, I leave school I'm gonna try and get a degree in computing science, what a great job that would be right? :D
