People who defend Nicole the Crank, or deny that ACORN is what it really is, adopt the tactic of trying to show that O'Keefe has some baggage - and this completely misses the point. In terms of what was revealed about ACORN, or the NJ Teachers Union Conference, O'Keefe DOES NOT MATTER. There is no context that is going to make those tapes into something that is not damning and despicable. We don't have to take O'Keefe's word for anything - don't you get it? @deegan45 They may have called the cops at one office, but not at six others. And if they called the cops, it may have been after somebody higher up the ACORN food chain had a chance to think about what had just happened and realized that it was CYA time.
There is no context that will make the ACORN tapes go away. ACORN employees were willing to help set up an underage house of prostitution. They did not bat a eye. They were not conducting a sting. They revealed who they were. Deal.

Offering to help set up a child brothel, but not actually competing the deal, is not a criminal offense. It is however, despicable, and that is one reason the US Congress de-funded ACORN. So the nebulous "cleared of wrongdoing" is not really honest - is it.
As far as actual criminal charges/convictions against ACORN, those have been for vote fraud. Google "ACORN vote fraud" and see. Happened in multiple states.

But I'm not ready to give any politician credit or call them a grownup. We haven't seen that in years.
