Morris Marina 1700L Auto - the final trip..?

According to DVLA records there are only 2 Marina 1700L Automatics left and these are both on SORN with none left on the road and in use.

I had a 1980 1700HL Marina, and although it was quite fast and good on petrol, it was a nightmare mechanically. All the stories about problems with Marinas like worn trunnions, leaking shock absorbers and bad handling are true, I'm afraid.

My Father had one of these and his had the same fuel gauge problem ! We had 110 out of it on the M4 once.

Certain Aussie Marinas could reach 110mph easily, particularly as they offered the option in the Marina of a 2.6L OHC 6-CYLINDER unit...

the fuel gauge is the one on the left - I am guessing the gauge/sender was bad?

Nope - on a scappers in Southport now :-( But... the Auto gearbox lives on in a converted/disabled Morris Traveller :-)
