I'm looking at all the comments and I realize this is a top 5 moment in NBA history because everyone seems to remember where they were when they saw the shot live, on TV, or watched the highlight. You only have those kinds of memories a few times a decade in all sports. Big Shot Bob is the most accomplished player in NBA history. And this shot is the reason why. In my mind he is the best PLAYOFF player ever.
I was sitting in Staples Center. They gave me better seats because almost a whole row of people left when the Lakers went down by 20 and I was still cheering them on. One of the greatest games I've ever been to.
Also, give it up for Vlade's post game comment: "It was just a luck shot, that's all." Captain choke seems to be trying to cover up something. Hmm.
I was sitting in my room at my nana's eating dinner i jumped off my bed when robert horry hit this shot in game 4 against the queesn in 2002 on a Sunday! :-)
@DavidisaBIMBO becAuse the lakers acquired karl malone that off season. He figured he won't have enough playing time with malone in the line up and he ended up helping the spurs win two more championships. I think he's trhe first and only player to win at least two championships with three different teams. rockets, lakers, spurs.
If only that Kings team was around in a different era like in the present they would have won the NBA finals easily. They were a solid team 10 players deep and played pretty good defense. Just didn't ever match up well with the Lakers. Divac was a little old to keep up with Shaq back then.
horry won the nba title that year with that shot. NO WAY the lakers win that series down 3-1 going to Sacramento for game 5. as a laker fan i remember i literally jumped higher than lebron james once i seen that lol
if robert horry misses this shot, the lakers don't win the championship that year because if he misses, they go down 3-1 and the lakers ended up losing the next game in sacramento
Guys stop saying it was a fix, if you wanna talk about a fix LeBron getting to the finals twice It was so great when he lost though. Super Bowl 41, Super Bowl 42, Super Bowl 45, Calvin Johnson touchdown called incomplete, Ndamokong Suh pentalized for grabbing Devin Hester's hair. Those are real fixes not this series.
i remember that i was at work and all the laker haters was on me cause we were down 20 (and you know it seem like your team plays better when you there)i said watch when i go home they gone come back and the best line ever was vlade divac said "it was luck" and horry said and i quote "i been doing that my whole life he better read a paper"
I lived in Sacramento that year, was a kings fan until I wrote off the entire state and all of it's teams. I'll NEVER EVER forget that day and especially that shot. I seriously thought it was over after Shaq missed the putback. I was jumping up and down with my back turned, I hear Marv Albert say, "Horry for the win, YES" with the crowd going crazy, I was stunned the rest of the weekend.
DAMN I WAS IN THE LIVING ROOM OF MY HOUSE AND I REMEMBER SITTING DOWN WATCHING THIS PLAY AND WHEN HE HIT THE WINNING SHOT I BUSTED OUT THE FRONT DOOR RUNNING DOWN THE STREET WITH MY HANDS IN THE AIR AS IF I SCORED A SOCCER GOAL LMAO! OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WAS GOING CRAZY!
The best part about this video is the 15 million people who were thinking "Yes, the Lakers were going to be down 3-1". Unfortunately the Lake Show was just beginning...
@andrewVeto that's not good at all, people are just wasting money for nothing, they should just watch the game and get their moneys worth. I just hope we get to see a crowd like this in Staples center in a season once more, with them actually being into the game and supporting the Lakers. Cause a crowd this big will help the Lakers a lot and build up their confidence on offense and defense when they need it more importantly in the game. which will help them win a lot of games.
Lol Kobe was raising his arms after Rob shot his three like he knew it was going in! And it did! I wish I could have watched this back in the day. I was barely a 10 year old playing Nintendo LOL. Anyhow, Horry robbed this game. :)
@superstar16123 i agree 100% i went to 3 of the games in 2010-2011 and everyone was just looking around for celebrities not paying attention to the game. it was horrible
@filthyphilful - agreed, the kings-lakers rivarly was awesome, i couldnt believe the kings never won. The lakers-spurs rivarly was great too. Im from cali so ive always been a laker fan, i miss the shaq days...hate him or love him, he was fun as hell to watch
Jim Gray, u got 2 things wrong: doing the stupid interview with LBJ last summer & then saying that Shaq tipped the ball out...as i saw some1 say earlier, Divac with the assist
The Kings should get the hell out of Sacramento. They need to get as far away as they can from those unclassy, born loser fans. Conspiracy theories are more appealing than recognizing the truth. Sacramento was beaten by the Lakers. You would think they would be used to it by now.
What is this video even about, this shot was after the buzzer it shouldn't have counted. If anyone watched up until 5:55 then you'll clearly see the shot was not off and the Kings should have won. Cocky little Lakers fans don't believe it but there is undeniable truth in this video that you all apparently looked over.

The crowd in Staples can be compared to a rubber band being stretched to extremity. Once Horry made his shot, that band split directly into two halves.

You can't even hear Marv Albert after "Yes!" - So fricking LOUD!!!! The best was right before the next season started, they showed this but from the rafters. You can see just how many people WENT NUTS!!!
@TexasSportsTroll yea it not like the Lakers have never been swept before. Mavs sweeping isnt the first time. Plus don't get me started with the Mavs. They had their chance and blew it in 2006. BLEW IT! I'd rather get swept than blow it! Cock in the mouth and everything those Mavs got from the Heat.
The last year I actually cared for basketball. This Laker team was the last hurrah for the 90s NBA we remembered

@TexasSportsTroll WHAT!? okay whatever you say.
ramblers818 8 months ago
@TexasSportsTroll yea it not like the Lakers have never been swept before. Mavs sweeping isnt the first time. Plus don't get me started with the Mavs. They had their chance and blew it in 2006. BLEW IT! I'd rather get swept than blow it! Cock in the mouth and everything those Mavs got from the Heat.
