Not much dynamic variation but ideal for music of this type. Very attractive voice. Would be interesting to hear her sing something operatic. Did she record any? Other than on the Record of Singing, I'm not aware of any other reissues.
Actually, not aware of any operatics. Her records, which rarely surface in the US, aren't easy to come by in the UK either. It's taken me several years to acquire a mere handful. THANKS!
Warm, pure, beautiful tone. If there were a recording of Hill's from Elgar's Sea Pictures, it would be interesting to compare it with creator Dame Clara Butt's version as well as Dame Janet Baker's. Thanks, Doug, for sharing this.
Stephen: Not at all sure of the full, complete Carmen's Hill discography. To the best of my knowledge there's never been an LP or CD reissue. THANK YOU!

Beautiful voice. She really does some lovely singing. A pre-war British contralto without a manly chest voice!!!
Too bad that she didn't record anything from Elgar's Sea Pictures.
