  • So much fun to get to see him conducting his orchestra!

  • THIS IS THE WAY IT SHOULD BE DONE.

  • The Southeners look only for the bare necessities in life, thats what I like about the south

  • He's a great fella, and I want to thank you sincerely for uploading this. That's What I Like About the South!

  • What film's this from, I want it!

My poor kids have been subjected to this for some years they are now weird.

Are the Jack Benny's available too?

    Ady Croasdell

  • @adycroasdell 1945's "I Love A Bandleader"

  • I loved him on the Jack Benny Program. Him, Mary, Rochester, Danny, Jack, and Don. Those shows are really priceless.

  • omg like he is amazing, like i like hering old radio shows so like i his voice, like i just heard him sing this song and love it

  • my dad had the original victor 78 played it so many times that you could'nt hear phil harris voice anymore thanks for posting

  • I grew up listening to Phil Harris as a kid in Ireland in the 1970s. My dad had a load of records from when he was a young man. A great talent, very funny, he should be remembered for more than The Jungle Book. 'Persian Kitten' is about 100 times more sexy than any starlet getting her trousers off on music TV these days.

  • There's a really funny Benny Show (2/29/48) in which Jack gets sick of the song and starts parsing the lyrics to prove they make no sense. His big argument is the bit about "a place called Do-wah-diddy", and he pulls out an atlas, to prove there's no such town. Later, Rochester comes by and asks to take leave to go visit his aunt in Do-wah-diddy, MS. Jack calls the library, finds there is such a town, then calls Rand McNally to sue them for leaving such an important place out of their atlas.

  • This would certainly give today's 'rappers' something to think about....
