  • That Car Is So Nice.

  • That 8 Track Looks So Original.

  • Hey nice ride, I´m curious on this car cause it had the same engine as a Mitsubishi Montero (on the US Dodge Raider) that I had once but without the turbo....

And sorry for my ignorance and my inoportunity, what´s the name of the song 0:40?

  • @judacomadc

yep, basically the same motor platform-

  • @judacomadc Blondie-Heart Of Glass.

  • This car is classic. I had an 87 Toyota Celica GTS. The real deal 3s-ge. Power adjustable lumbar sport seats, heated mirrors, endless powerband. Miss that car.

  • @tambunansumlang hey i had one too it was an awesome car

  • Please teach,What font name this text?

  • Impressive, all mitsubishi engines have a very unique sound in their engines, which I still find on their newer galant....

  • what a nice car...im just not that attracted to newer cars as much as older ones...i just love the straight lines, i dont know why , and its not cuz they where the cars in style when i was young cuz im only 15...

most ppl my age would be like be like shit i have to get some old car...I WANT ONE

  • hahahaaa all those same guys are the ones that answer my questions too on starquestclub. props on the cloth seats, i like the leather ones better tho...

  • I sold the car in this video awhile back. I heard it was sold to someone in Houston, and the guy I sold it to lived in Ohio.

He had it repainted stock RED.

I'd like to know if the car is still on the road and how many miles it's driven.

  • nice conquest i have an 87 five speed leather seats

  • Nice video and really nice car! I used to have one, just like that, same color and everything. i miss it to this day, and i am defianately going to get another one....Once you own or even drive one of these cars only then can you fully understand why these cars are so awesome!

  • I've uploaded a video of conquest just how it sounded the last time I touched it, I will be updating a new video but Chen it out on my uploads

  • Both injectors were cleaned at a fuel injection place, it made a difference I checked headgasket and it was fine I did a compression check came out good, the exhaust is straight I cut the calaystic converter off we don't need to smog cars here Oregon older than 20 yrs old.

  • My problem is that when I start mine it won't rev past 3-4,000 rpm it's like clogged, but I leave to idle on it's own it's ok but if I drive the car it will die after many attempts it will sort of drive ok but heats up too much. I did manage to take the injectors to get cleaned and ran a little better but still has similar problems.

  • @MIZQUITLI

The larger secondary injector can clog up then you can't boost or the car doesn't like to drive down the road.

Far as overheating...the cooling system has to be in top notch shape to keep up.

Have the radiator rodded or replace it...hollow out the first catalytic converter or replace it. Make sure your thermostat is working, use redline water wetter(entire bottle)

It always a good idea to make sure your headgasket isn't blown with this car as they tend to blow headgaskets

  • I had overheating issues as well, The stock radiator sucks, so I put in a huge 4 core (barley fit) and haden electric fans. @vela07

  • @napalmm101

Honestly, if I was going to daily drive one of these cars again. I'd either have the motor rebuilt like I did with this car OR I would replace the water pump, timing chains, remove the balance shafts, thermostat

Unless all that stuff is new or in great shape these cars don't have a chance in hell in being reliable for daily driving without overheating.

  • @MIZQUITLI take out your cat and gut the precut using a crowbar.

Check your MAF and your error codes.

  • @MIZQUITLI Do you experience violent vibrations at 4000rpm? If so, your balance shaft is probably 180 degrees out.

  • @MIZQUITLI I used to have a starion and it would sputter and spit after boost started to kick in. I thought my pump was going out and not keeping up and when i took the line off of the output side of the origional pump i found a tiny cone shaped filter in the line that was clogged big time. i took it out and it ran better than i could've imagined.

  • I'm sure you felt a sense of ":)))) YEAHHH!" When that thing started up again. I'm getting mine when I'm 16. It's got a a problem that when it gets hot, the ignitor box stops working, therefore, breakdown.

  • damn i hope i can get my 86 conquest tsi to run its only got 68,000 original miles on it but having huge issues getting it to run good

  • just curious,,, ive had a few mustangs,, one was a 12 second car,, the stock pistons wer 9:01 FORGED ,, and can handle good boost,, the 93-95 5.0 pistons are hyperutectic,, but CAST?????? 10 - 15 psi??? cast pistons are not only NOT recomended, but are just not for boost,, if youre giving 10 psi to cast pistons,, i need to know who makes em cause its impressive,, VERY nice car tho

  • I used to have a silver '87 that sadly I had to sell. I always loved that 'bassy' exhaust note, which rivaled a Porsche 944. Now that I am older and can afford one, I'm getting me an '88 or '89 model, which are the more reliable ones.

  • Does yours have the ETACS system?

  • what turbo you got on it 14g?

  • @DSMeclipsegst

Nope this car was stock, 12A.

  • @vela07 ahh ok my firend has a 1987 Wideboy conquest TSi that is built with a 14g. And a 1986 Starion that is about to have a ford 302 in it. Have you turned the boost up from the stock 7-8psi i belive is what a 12a is set at?

  • @DSMeclipsegst

You can turn up the stock 88-89 boost from 10psi to about 15psi which is huge if you have a full 3" exhaust...but this particular car had stock exhaust.

  • @vela07 yea he has 3 inch hes runnin 14psi right now because of something keeps clogging his fuel system.

  • @DSMeclipsegst

    88-89 stock boost is 10psi

  • I just noticed I had camera zoom while over the engine....damn sorry about that..haha

  • Starion forever!!

  • that radio is hilarious, my dad has an 80's sound system in the house that looks just like that

  • that radio is hilarious, my dad has an 80's sound system in the house that looks just like that

  • belle voiture, dommage que cette music vienne tous gâché

  • So 80's..My aunt owned on of these..Fun little sporty 80's cars.

  • omfg one with the org radio and eq man that clean keep her nice and running great restore more vids plz

  • nice treat to see a Starion. Nice work, mate! :D

  • EQ comes stock

  • Very cool, thanks for the help. I found an 86 TSI flatty on Craigslist for $200, non-running, so that's what kinda sparked the whole thing. I'm hoping to save up some money and buy a widebody model - they just look so awesome with the box flares and 16's. Plus, the added horsepower is nice, even though it seems like the hp difference can be tuned out pretty easily - plus a bit more ;)

  • Very cool car... I am looking into one as a project car - but from what I've heard they're expensive to maintain... I'll have to look into that.

And does that equalizer come stock? Because that is made of pure awesome. Haha

  • Most people didn't take care of these cars properly so when you buy a chassis, you get what you pay for.

Spend extra and buy a nice lower mile chassis to start with.

The only reason I bought this high mile 230k chassis is because the owner took care of it.

  • Such an amazing car it was back then...

  • bout someone played blonde to start a car video

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Heart of Glass- Blondie

  • Hey!

Thats the same thing as a dodge conquest lol, My buddy has one of those things, there really neat actually.

  • Man I used to have one of these. They kick ass and were way ahead of their time especially with that black velor/velvet interior. Mine broke in the exhaust and leaked boost so I sold it for $1100 :(

  • you had a simple boost leak along with a exhaust leak and it made you sell the car? That shows that you clearly dont know crap about mechanics. Both are simple to fix.

  • are these like the dodge daytonas? when i was like 10 my mom had one. and i swear it looks just like this car

  • They are completely different, but do look similar.

  • when running in dont just drive slowly; u must load the engine for short bursts or the cylinders and piston rings wont bed properly.

  • You are right and the proper way to break in the rings is to downshift from 4th and 3rd and let the engine wind down. That beds the rings really good.

    Thanks though!

  • most important thing is to put load into piston so it pushes hard into cylinder wall.

as the crank or piston pin is offset to prevent piston slap combustion load is best.

  • what bhp do these have?

I saw one for sale on ebay £155!

  • stock for usdm is 188hp 234trq

everybody else in the world got to enjoy the 2.0 SOHC turbo wideblock 4g63.

  • I have a 05 Galant 4 cylinder and the engine looks almost the same except it is sideways lol.

  • gorgeous. always loved the starion bodystyle

  • awesome! better than GTO. Very good radio cassette and auto a/c.

  • I had a 89 Conquest, and I broke a tooth off a gear, and also broke a syncro ring, but it always got me home. Sold it at 100,000 miles for $2000. I miss it.

  • I love to hear the horn on this Starion, so please beep it, OK? Thank you.

  • Man, the horn on this particular car is lame..I dont knwo why it was so weak, but it wasnt goign to save my life.

It worked sometimes..luckily it worked when the inspection guy tested it, and it passed!

  • Really? I wish your horn was more energetic.

  • I was reading the factory manual, supposedly you can adjust your horn volume by turning the bolt on it.

    starquestgarage dot com

  • awesome car, i had one before but gave it up, family priority, expensive to maintain but nice to have, peace

  • Clean car for 230k on it!

  • These cars are built so freaking well. Thanks!

  • looks like your oil pressure sending unit isnt working right, or you have super thick oil. your oil pressure shouldnt be that high.

  • Hehehe congrats on not racing the engine or doing any general stupid stuff. Blondie Rocks!

  • You kidding..I only got 60 miles on this bad boy.. ;0

  • @dcrasta Wow...thats an old SQC username. The DC Rasta man!

  • Some GOOD oil pressure you got there... haha.

  • No doubt! New Oem oil pump.
