@SpinGoldmusic tone is subjective. some people like some amps more than others and different people will spin the dials different ways to their liking. but as in the action of the guitar, the higher the strings are the more room they have to vibrate and make sound. so in that sense it isnt subjective. the higher the action, the more tone that will come out of the guitar. the lower the action the buzzier it will be and the tone suffers.

i've got blackouts in my Schecter and lemme tell you, don't even question getting em if you want actives. they're so massive and clear sounding for distorted tones and sooo nice and organic sounding on cleans. definitely way better than EMGs, without a doubt. althought i would recommend the mick thompson blackout (EMTY) in the bridge if you want a tighter low end because blackouts do have a bit of low end but i like it for the chunk and thats what makes the cleans sound so great in the neck.
