@shigueo92 ''Alexandre Dumas pere wrote over 400 historical novels expsoing world tyranny(Roman Catholic Empire). this song reminds me of a woman i wanted so much ...but she wont even give me the time of day...sad to say she is no longer with us her boy friend took her life over drugs..i would have gave my life to save her's...i stll cry when i hear this song i got the rec of it for her long ago..she as far as i know never played it...i went to school with her.....sad sad sad....:(
@lazer227 "Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an INVISIBLE GOVERNMENT owing NO allegiance and acknowledging NO responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul this unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of today." PRESIDENT THEODORE ROOSEVELT, 1906

@lazer227 This passage is from The incredible marquis by Herbert Gorman entitled the soldier of fortune(chapter six) It was natural that Dumas believed implicitly in the magic of somnambulism, in animal magnetism and in chiromancy. No Haitian negro dancing before his Voodoo altar was more superstitious than Dumas. Home, to Dumas, therefore, was an authentically inspired adept in communicating with unseen world.
@lazer227 Have we succeeded? We think so. Before long we shall have covered with our narratives an enormous period of time; between the "Comtesse de Salisbury' and the "Comte de Monte Christo" five centuries and a half are compresed. Well, we assert that we have taught France as much history about those five centuries and a half as any historian. This passage is from The Companions of Jehu which was written by Alexandre Dumas pere.
@eduardo91142 these passages are from page #17 of The Companions of Jehu written by Alexandre Dumas pere--"Sir, I have heard speak of the Companions of Jesus," replied the magistrate with his jeering smile. "The Jesuits, you mean? That is not what I am seeking, sir."....Elisha consecrated Jehu King of Israel, on condition that he exterminate the house of Ahab; Elisha was Louis XVIII; Jehu was Cadoudal; the house of Ahab, the Revolution.
@youngmindedman they wrote songs that cud fall under that category, but it wudnt b very fair to label them as such as they've touch many other different areas with their music, but yes, in a way they were 1 of the pioneers along with Lucifer's Friend, Budgie, Sir Lord Baltimore, Blue Cheer, Black Sabbath, Bedlam,Buffalo,Iron Claw, etc.
In my view, the John Lawton era with Heep started with one really good album (Firefly) followed by two average ones track with tracks that were basically OK, but not up to the previous quality of earlier Heep songs. Having said that, this track was a good one and worthy of inclusion on any "Best of Heep" collection.
This dinosaur from the 70's is actually doing a Sydney gig next year.
A very underrated band despite some really crap songs padding gems on most albums and frequent line up changes. This song was about a year after David Byron (vocals) was sacked from the band.
Uriah Heep Total awesome this group reminds me so much in The days,of purple Micro Dot Acid in other several material things in the 70,s.Party all the time just like one of the song says in it was Easy Living, back then I think the first time I saw them preform was with Robin Trower in Aerosmith at the Old Jacksonville collicium how ever you spell it
Fallen Angel is a great album probably the best of the Lawton era with great songs like this, Love or Nothing, Come back to me and the killer I am Alive. The more recent release has another killer song (out take, Heep have left so many great songs out of so many albums) called The Right to Live. It is very underrated probably because of its cover and because it is a rather pop-rock album.
