Very helpful. I had the same problem and I didn't have the time to buy an adapter. This was a very good and productive video. BTW can I export more that one audio file at a time?
Thank you!!!! My God nobody knew how to do this. I have been trying to figure this out for months. I love Apple but it's these little things that Apple is not strong on. Thanks again and put some more videos up using iMovie!!! You seem to know your S&$%!
Strangely enough, when I right click on the project, on imovie, I don't get an option to extract audio. And I can't find the extract audio option. Do you have an upgraded version of imovie?
What if I have multiple clips with transitions in between? iMovie will only allow me to export all the audio, rather than the audio of individual clips.
Thank you so much!

I had to use Command-D instead of Control-D to duplicate the channel with iMovie'09.
