The story of Chinese men in Britain around the time of the first and second world wars is an interesting one that I hope is told one day in movies or television. Many married or cohabitated with English women before being forced out of Britain and separated from their kids.

Mr Charteris bore a cunning resemblance to a famous and talented Asian actor/singer/composer by the name of P.Ramlee. Both had similar build body shape and moustache. Both became famous around the same time and both had some connections with Singapore. Both are also charming and appealing to ladies of their time. Both married actresses and lived happily with their wives.
