Every hero mythology has this idea adapted from the Roman/Greek mythologies, dealing with the "establishment" represented by Jupiter/Zeus family... and the generational destruction of those who came before. The out is supposed to be "Chiron" but the problem with that "out" is that he dies in the end... he is equal in all respects to his half brother, only better, he's not fooling around, his children are not destroying everything, they are healers, teachers and seers living happily in caves.

On the other hand, Chiron's daughter seen symbolically as what the system does, had the power to see the future, so Juno cursed her and blinded her. Meaning?

I understand what you are saying about scifi and Lord of the Rings as having multiple layers of suggestion and influence but I have to ask, must we do away with it all? I still find some of these things entertaining while still staying aware of underlying msgs. I'm just wondering if there really is any form of entertainment that isn't tainted anymore?
