This is the most abysmal, disgraceful, novice and trashy video I have ever seen. It is played wrong, the style is wrong, the look is trashy and the quality is complete ridicule. This is a disgrace and INSULT to organ playing. I have heard a fucking 15 year old play better than this shit !!!! EPIC FAIL, your tempo is completely off........that's not how the piece was composed and meant to be played, you bloody SUCK !!!!!!!!
That was awesome!!! I especially like your style. You had to hold on to the console just like I do. Only when doing pedal work or 70+ on the bike. Very moving-hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
@KLiepins Seeing as how you too are a fellow musician, I enjoyed your playing. Different musicians have different ways of showing expression. Many criticized Virgil Fox for "moving too much" and he's one of the greatest organist of the 20th Century. I would like to see some of your organ videos, if you please to watch your expressive techniques :).
OMG I think I'm in love ! I already was with this piece for as far as I can see there must be a very nice girl behind the organ ;) It's too bad the video quality is not so good because your way of playing the piece is very good. I would love to invite you to the Domchurch, Utrecht, in The Netherlands, where I'm organist.
The closeness of the camera and the lack of decent technology to block out feedback at that instrument accounts for the harshness of sound. The other videos are a little more balanced I assure you.
Brillo! Its very inpressive stuff, just another boring comment telling you my opinion lol, i understand how complicated it is to learn this particular piece. Just remember which musical time periord bach was in. Broque. Thus, just play it all with a little more ditatio and sparkaly, also account this with the stops you use. Ballance is the key! ;)
the fugue sounds really good! Some friendly suggestions for the prelude:
work on the mordents in the opening pedal line-this could be a little more dramatic (more time)
the 16' throughout the entire prelude is a bit much. I would use for the opening solo, take it off and add it back in on the f minor chord 5 or so measures from the end. The polyphony of the prelude will be more apparent then!
i love the organ as an instrument (although actually i'm just a common guitarist/pianist/bluesharper :P) and Bach in particular. i watchedd this vid thrice now:) i love ur playing. the sound does need a bit of improvement, try setting ur output volume a bit down or the equalizer to small speakers, might help. congrats on the vid otherwise...great playing:)
alright! second semester student doing this piece congratulations! (plus the movement problem is not nearly as evident here) i agree that the prelude should go faster, now. lets talk about registration. i typically start this fugue on foundation on the swell, move to foundations on the great, add mixtures at the "doggy paddle" chords, and end on full organ. do what you like, but i am sure a little more variaty couldn't kill a cat. and you are stronger than a cat so good news for you!
Thanks so much! "Doggy paddle" chords. I like that. And yet, the weight distribution for the hands at that part is for the left hand to be heavier than the right. Uneven doggy paddling....lol
My professor just added some stops, so it's getting there.
great! trust me, eventually you will record yourself playing all of these songs and not even recognize them because of the skills you pick up on the way. but you surprised me with your ability as a second semester!
I've only been playing organ for going on my second semester now. I've been reading music for going on four semesters and I've been an ear player since I was a kid. I did not choose to study music seriously until I graduated high school.
What year of college are you in? I'm an organ student myself. I've been playing since I was 11. I personally would play he piece at a faster tempo and I agree with the previous poster about the pauses. The fugue is at a much more suitable tempo, but think it could go a little faster. I would add some trills in the fugue subject on the first quarter note. Hope this helps. But if you don't want to pay attention to what I say...that's perfectly fine...God knows I'm not perfect.
Good Job you are playing very well but i think that you have to study it a bit more.I think that you have to try to play without doing pauses cos the piece has to have a natural flow.(it's realy a problem with the sound, try to fix it cos you're loosing many comments,i think many people cant hear it)Otherwise you are very good, congrats. Good luck very good performance.
Unfortunately the organ sounds funky. I don't know if it's your camera, or if You Tube has an audio problem tonight, The previous two organ videos posted had the same problem with distortion.
Muy bueno! Solo que el sonido casi no lo escucho!

Do not delete my commentary, be strong and understand you can improve your articulation. You play the organ well, but you need improve. That´s all.

barefoot playing = bad! that is what they make organ shoes for!
okamilune 3 years ago
Exactly. I've practiced with my socks and tights when I forgot my organ shoes, but it makes no difference in the playing at all! lol
